Ind_noobling Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Hi! Right now I am using a compiled version of MAME 0.145 with No-Nag to remove the press OK to being and gameinfo screens. I know that there is a Command.dat file which basically shows list of moves in a fighting game when you press a certain key when running the game.(I use it on my PSP Neo-Geo and CPS emulators and it works there.) The webpage of the command.dat says MAME32 and MAME32++ support it. Now the question is does my compiled MAME version support it? How do i go about enabling it? If not can I add it during compile like No-Nag? Thanks!
jelwell Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Command.dat support was dropped somewhere between version 100 and the current version. Looks like there are versions that support it still (but the core no longer does): http://mame32fx.altervista.org/features.htm Joseph Elwell.
bleasby Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 You resurrected a very old post. Anyway, just to get advantage of that, to anyone that does not know, hyperpause shows the info of the moves on the command.dat file under the menu named moves list. You just need to open a game that is listed on the command.dat file, like sf2, and the HyperPause menu will display the moves list info for you. You can create new game entries of any game in any system following the command dat structure to display moves of your preferred game in HyperPause. Is there some kind of unofficial update available for the command.dat file? I find it very strange that there are no moves for games like Tekken available in the dat file..
bleasby Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I don't have any knowledge of an unofficial updated command.dat file. However, if you want to add any game to it and share your work with the community, it is a very easy task. After all the command.dat file is just a text file. Just take a look at a game entry similar to the one that you want to create. To use the command dat move images, you just need to write the two letter codes corresponding to each image on the text file. The complete HyperPause image correspondence can be found on this file that I created to help you on that. https://www.dropbox.com/s/psw2flt75eut7r9/command%20dat%20list.pdf?dl=0 When asking for help for RocketLauncher, POST ON THE RLAUNCHER.NET FORUMS! jeanvion Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Thanks for the clear information bleasby, I will surely use it to update the Tekken series! However I still find it very strange why such a famous game series is not in there
