Kalif0rnia Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Just upgraded MAME for the first time in years for my cabinet, everything works perfectly except one problem. every time I exit and load up a new game in HyperSpin it executes a new MAME. after 4 games the CPU is under 100% load (computer chugs and freezes) and Task Manager has 4 mame.exe processes open. only occurs in HS, outside of it went I exit MAME it ends the process too. Is there a script I can add in Hyperlaunch.ahk that can terminate the process? [sOLVED] wasn't even hyperSpins fault, MAME disappears with every other esc, exits out but remains in the Processes under task manager. must be a bug when I complied my new MAME. I fixed it by creating an .ahk with autohotkey that terminates the process every time I hit esc, just put it in my startup folder in Windows 7. [sOLVED part DEUX] that actually didn't work. Esc stopped functioning inside HyperSpin. so I took the code and implemented into HyperLaunch.ahk under MAME and took off the "wait" close function. now it works!
Fromlostdays Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 If I had to guess it might be that you're using an outdated version of mame with the new module? Post the module, the version number of mame, and the name of mame process in task manager. Alternately, try an updated version of mame. Walter:beerglass:
Kalif0rnia Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 the opposite actually. Newest MAME, oldest hyperspin. too much work for me to switch to hyperlanuch. I just don't have it in me.
DrMaxwell Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Try and older version of mame 148u5? How to guides and custom artwork sets @ https://www.youtube.com/user/MaxwellParadigm Themes, Wheels, Carts and Database Downloads available @ http://spacevalkyrie.weebly.com/
Fromlostdays Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I can't help you, then, but I do want to recommend that you upgrade. It takes less than 30 minutes, and much better support. If you're not using Hyperlaunch at all, you should be exiting the emulator using the emulator exit options? Make sure the processes are closing. Walter:beerglass:
