Deadgame
It's my first post, so please forgive my noobness. I just bought a cab that's fully functional. It's running an older version of Hyperspin that just has MAME roms. I'd like to upgrade to a bigger HD with a newer version of Hyperspin, so I found a few guys selling 5-10 TB HDs that have the newest HS preloaded. I'd also like to replace the arcade monitor with a LCD. Here are the specs on the cab I bought: Cabinet: Atari Showcase 33 Monitors: Hantarex Polo 33" CRT Hannspree 16" LED Windows Ultimate 7 CPU: Lenovo H500 Intel 3.0 GHz 4 GB RAM GFX: Ultimarc ArcadeVGA Crucial 200 GB Solid State Hard Drive Hardware: 3" Black Happ Trakball 2x Black Balltop Sanwa JLF joysticks 14x Red LED pushbuttons Logitech wireless keyboard/touchpad combo Ultimarc JPAC Jamma interface Software: MameUI FX MAME .153 - NoNag/HiScore Hyperspin frontend 2500+ ROMs Here are my questions: 1. Is my system adequate enough to run newer games? 2. Has anyone ever changed out a 33" showcase monitor for an LCD? Can you suggest a good one to get? 3. How can I hook this monitor up? VGA, HDMI? Not sure if I need another piece of tech to get the LCD to work with my setup. Sorry for the lack of knowledge; I'll get there eventually... Thanks for your reply. Nexus23
Hi, System looks not so bad! Newer Games maybee a problem, some Mame Games need a very fast Cpu also gpu! Psx and Sega DC, Saturn N64, Gamecube should work without problems!? Ram update to 8gb was an option but 4 must enough for Hyperspin and most Systems... LCD Monitor not a problem VGA, HDMI, DVI you can use your old Kabel and all is fine. A 33" Crt changed to a LCD is not a good idea! Like Crt an have only a LCD LCD Monitor, TV easy to find! You can use a Plama TV or a LCD TV with good Kontrast for a few bugs! My Cab runs with a Packard bell easynote le11bz only 1,4ghz dualcore and Radeon HD 7310 onboard Graphic Gamecube & sega M2-3, Zinc, Sega Naomi does not work in a playable framerate but that`s ok for me, Psx and all other Systems working very good.
