Hi guys,

I've been doing a fresh install of hyperspin on a dedicated console system and have been getting no end of trouble with getting my controllers to work. Im using 2 x DS4 controllers with Inputmapper and Xpadder. I'm only focused on HS for now although I've loaded zSNESw for testing purposes and getting a similar issue in there (although I haven't test that thoroughly).

I originally tried ghutch's Hyperspin Startup Script but I had a glitch where the dpads wouldn't kick in for 20 seconds. I couldn't work through that so now I'm still using the script but instead using xpadder to map the keys (Joysticks_Enabled=False in the script). This works great for p1, but I can't get p2 working. I've tried several ways of generating a p2 profile, copy-paste-rename from p1, make from scratch in xpadder, make from scratch from HSHQ, nothing seems to work. Perhaps I'm overlooking something simple or just don't understand xpadder well enough? Here's a screenshot of my basic setup:

So in that shot you can see that I have the second controller highlighted in HSHQ and controller 2 selected from the dropdown and I hit edit selected profile which brought up the xpadder. It shows I have the p2 profile in xpadder on the 2nd tab and when I hit the various buttons they highlight in xpadder. If I then hit "test selected Xpadder profile" without changing anything then nothing registers. What gives? I was just in Xpadder, it showed me it knows I'm hitting the buttons and what keys those buttons represent, why won't HSHQ recognise it? It's particularly frustrating when I delete all the profiles and do them from scratch from within HSHQ, p1 works fine and p2 just laughs at me!

Please someone tell me I'm making some basic mistake, I've been reading forums and watching youtube guides for the better part of a week trying to figure it out but not many people touch on the multiple controllers. I'm keen to start working on emulators, the controls shouldn't be this hard :banghead:

I'm no programmer but it looks to like it's loading the p1 and p2 profiles ok. In the above example I am launching Street Fighter II where controller 1 is responsive but controller 2 is not.

Using the above script I get controller 1 working but not 2 just like in the game. If I drop the /M the Xpadder window pops up in front of HS so I'm able to see the p1 and p2 profiles loaded into tabs 1 and 2 respectively, but I need to have that particular tab active for the controller to be recognised. If I select tab 2 and go back to HS then controller 2 works but not controller 1. I think I'm missing some fundamental understanding for Xpadder, why would both profiles be loaded but you can only use one at a time? I had a look through the Xpadder settings and found something that looks odd to me:

The 2 controllers show up on one line, is that right? I mean I can get them both working independently but not together, maybe there's some kind of conflict.

Further experimentation proves the issue; If I go to HLHQ global keymapper, select controller 2 in the box and dropdown and hit "Test selected Xpadder profile" I get no response from controller 2. However if I then go into Xpadder from my tray and select tab 2 which has p2 loaded then go back to the test window I then get a response as shown:

So I am doing something that is making Xpadder only make one profile available at a time which is affecting both HS and emulators. I was under the assumption that each tab in Xpadder is running simultaneously, am I wrong? It's worth noting also that while the Startup Script didn't work for me due to a delay issue it DID still work for both controllers.
