Ryan Legend Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 The past week I have been obsessed with HS and building my own arcade machine. I have a recording studio with a bunch of classics systems setup, just consoles. THEN I came across this site and now I can't wait until no more tripping over controller wires and hooking up systems and unhooking systems, changing out discs and carts. So, anyways big props to this site and everyone on here for making it so easy. I had zero experience with this kind of stuff and my HS is almost done. Ok so I went ahead and paid the $45 for plat membership and I read I need to send Badboybill a PM, so I did but when I hit submit I still had no sent messages and I got no message saying it had sent Idk if its just like that or what so I'll just post on here just incase. And since my HS is almost complete I am looking into building my control panel, I've seen some tutorials and it looks easy enough, I was going to go with the I-pac4, because I need the 4 player setup because I have so many people in and out the studio I can't see being limited to two players. I priced it and it looks like it will be around $200 for the i-pac, joysticks, and all the buttons. I wanted to get some opinions on the X-Arcade control panel, I could get two for $260 IF there is anyway to use two at the same time for four players, so if anyone knows if I could do that let me know, or if you just hate X-Arcade and think I should just build my own let me know also. ONE more thing, whats a good site/place to get cabinet decals, I can make the images but is it printed on huge stickers or what, I don't really know how that works. Sorry if I said some things face palmable Im a super noob but I'm ready to get this thing up and running.

I think you cannot go wrong with all the products at Ultimarc! Andy gives great support and the products are excellent! I think it's a far better option to build your own. I believe it's part of the fun, and gives you a better understanding of how it all works. But that's just me. I went with an IPac, MagStick+, Spinner, Trackball and LED buttons. The wiring was a mess, but nothing feels better than the first time it fires up and works, knowing you built it all!! Just my 2 cents. As for decals and graphics. There are a couple thread around here about it. You can use them, or look around local for a sign shop. There are also people that will design it for you and you just have to have it printed. Thanks, Ron Code Monkey and all around Command Line geek!If you like what someone has said or done for you, be sure and 'Thank' them. And if they changed your life, send them a Beer!
