Display Boxart and cart art together?

I recently had my hard drive crash and had to start from scratch on rebuilding my box. :/

It seems that some things have changed and I am at a loss trying to remember how to set up the menu displays.

I have boxart in the artwork2 folder, and I've tried 1,3, and 4 for the cartridge art, but nothing happens.

Where am I going wrong?

I guess I'm really lost....

I'm not sure what you mean by the theme, where is that determined?

But like I said I tried the remaining artwork folders and nothing appeared

Take a look through my vids. They may catch you back up.  They also have collections of art and themes for you to download so you can see how I have done it.

Also Hypersync is now active and you can use that to download most of your art.  However again, try to use artwork 3-4 as these are the more comonly used folders for art like that

I watched your vids. I didn't see anything about that.

As for the theme, everything is default.

I just need to know if there is an area/menu that I can edit box art and cart art options.

It seems if I can figure out where this is, maybe I can find my problem

Open up (double click) the zipped theme file inside your system's theme folder named "default".

There is an xml file inside named "Theme".

This xml file contains the settings for how box and cart artwork appears in your theme.

The xml file can be opened and edited with Notepad.

The xml file should have a set of artwork listings containing 1,2,3 and 4 and a set of x and y coordinates for each and various other settings. These numbers correspond to the Artwork 1,2,3,4 subfolders in the system's Images folder

If you want box AND cart art to show up you need to set the coordinates for these two separate folders - usually Artwork 3 and 4 is used for this but it will depend on which theme you are using and 3 and 4 may already be in use with other artwork so you will need to look inside the zipped default theme folder above to see which png files are already in use and use folder numbers which don't have other artwork assigned to it.

For example:

My NES system coordinates to have the box art showing up and entering the screen from the right and the cart art entering the screen from the top

<artwork3 x="898" y="136" r="0" delay="0" time=".5" type="ease" start="top" />

<artwork4 x="790" y="509" r="0" delay="0" time=".5" type="ease" start="right" />

Edit your default theme using hypertheme.to reflect the png files for both boxart and cartart.

Example: boxart png files go in Artwork2... cartart png files go in Artwork4...save theme and add png files to appropriate folders.
