Hi all,

I am having trouble getting Hyperspin to recognize any of the roms I have and I haven't got a clue why....

In Hyper Hq I have set the wheel settings for sega genesis.

In "excuatable" I have set the path to the emulator. (I am using Gens)

In "rom path" I have set the path to the genesis roms. (I got a pack from my friend who said he uses them on his hyperspin, so they should all be fine)

And in "extensions" I have put "zip" (I got all this info from a youtube video)

I am not sure why they wouldn't work and I can't seem to find the answer online as every place I go says that the file path must be wrong... but it isn't, so very confused.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Hi thanks for replying

in HyperHQ at the end of the wheel option there is a box called "extensions" and I put  the word "zip" in it... is that wrong?

My mate told me not to bother with Hyperlauch but just checked it now after you mention HL and there is no option to change anything to zip...... it just lets me quick check to see if the roms work and again it says the same thing "cannot find rom ........ with any provided extension"

And I also unzipped 1 rom but also says the same thing :(

Does that emulator support zip files? If not then you would have to unzip it and use the file itself, which you would have to add its extension as well. Use rlauncher and you will find things become much easier to set up and you run in to less problems.

Hi I checked online and it says that the emulator I am using does support zip files..... also I have never heard of Rlauncher... what does it do?

Well i dunno if your not using HLHQ but in HLHQ Select the EMULATOR then SETTINGS, Then MAIN SETTINGS, scroll to the bottom and in SETTINGS|MATCH EXTENSION Change to TRUE

I think I must have a different version to you guys as dunno what HLHQ is. I just downloaded the full Hyperspin from the download section on this website but the file was also different to some of the video tutorials online as mine worked strait away and just needed to add the roms and emulators.

Though regarding the roms...

As I couldn't figure out what was wrong and didn't seem to be getting that far here, I decided to look online for a working version to download with some emulators and games to see where I might have gone wrong.

After downloading the 27gb file, to my shock it said the same thing again "cannot find rom ........ with any provided extension",  as there was a video showing it worked and many recent comments saying it worked, it had me thinking WTF!!!!

But after seeing Tonycrew's post I went to the "SETTINGS FOLDER" and realised that despite changing the Path way in Hyper HQ, there was still another path to change to the correct drive and you cannot change the certain path in Hyper HQ as there is no option to do so. -_-

So the fix is to go to the "Hyperspin" folder, then go to the "settings" folder and change all documents manually to the drive they will be on. :)

Glad you got it sorted, and sorry i didn't reply sooner with more info, HLHQ is HyperlaunchHQ this is where you Set your Emulator/Rom Paths etc, (as well as HyperHQ) Thats why you had to manually do this in settings i suggest as your new to hyperspin you watch some of these videos (link below), because once you start with hyperspin it becomes addictive and trust me you will want to add to it.
