  1. Nice work and thanks for the replies guys.
  2. For anyone else reading this needing help, all is explained in better format here: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?30012-X-Arcade-Dual-Setup-Guide-For-HyperLaunch-etc
  3. Ps, this looks like an overly modded Tankstick
  4. I was lucky, I got mine on eBay for only £53 (with USB connection adaptor). So for the price I paid its great. The directional joysticks could be a tiny bit better but they may have improved in the Tankstick. Not to say they are unresponsive in any way, just feel there is prob high end ones out there, plus I want RGB LED buttons and sticks at some point. The only real pain I had was setting it up, but this guide should help anyone else with avoiding the stress I had ha.
  5. Hi All, When I joined this forum I bombarded everyone with questions on how to setup my X-Arcade Dual as I was having problems. This thread is just a breakdown on the help I got and a few things I found out myself. ps, this guide SHOULD also work with the Tankstick, but I don't have one so can't confirm. TO SETUP YOUR X-ARCADE DUAL: Step 1: Connect your X-Acarde, if possible get the USB connector as this has never let me down esp with hot-swapping (not having to reboot if unplugged) the red light on the right should turn on when all is ok and connected. Step 2: Use the official X-Arcade test online here or download the software here and make sure all of your buttons and joysticks are working fine. Step 3: This part is very important. If you will just be using Mame (then skip step 4 & 6) you can simply download the latest official X-Arcade key config file here, and then copy it into your Mame Ctrl folder. Now if you're using MameUIFX you can select the controller config file from the options. If you're using anything else such as standard Mame then in the Mame dir you will see an ini file. Open that and where it has controller, put X-Arcade. This tells Mame to look to your new Cfg file that you put in the ..mame/ctrlr/ folder for the X-Arcade Dual layout. (If you don't see the ini file you might need to generate one via the command prompt, ask below and I'll help if so) Default Mode 1 Configuration IF however you wish to use other Emulators such as NullDC, Dolphin etc, you will have to re-program the key layout on your X-Arcade hardware (don't panic, this is easy). The reason why you have to do this is because the default setup for X-Arcade has command keys such as Alt, Left Shift etc as buttons and most emulators won't let you setup these buttons in the config, or if they do they won't respond in games. To re-program your X-Arcade you need an old PS2 Keyboard (PS2 being the PC connection type not a Playstation 2 ha) inset this into the PS2 port on the back of your X-Arcade and then slide the button mode switch to the far left (as close as possible to the single button on the back). The mode switch has 4 different options, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Option 1 is the default and can't be re-programmed over so we're sliding it to the far end so it is on 4 which we can reconfigure ourselves now using the PS2 keyboard. To reprogram simply follow these sub steps Press the button on the back so the red light over to the right on the top of the X-Arcade goes off. Then press and hold the direction or button you want to reprogram followed by pressing and holding they key on the PS2 keyboard you want to be associated with it, press and holding both until you see the red light blink showing that they have now been paired. I personally then press the button on the back so the red light goes on again, test the new assignment. (Doing it all in one go as this sometimes does not work and you only have to reprogram them all once) Repeat steps 2 & 3 to reprogram the rest of the directions and buttons one at a time, for Player 1 directions, reprogram to the up, down, left right keys rather than keypad. Don't use any command keys, i.e alt, shift etc Step 4: Now that your buttons are pressing the correct keys, you can go into each of your emulators and set the controllers up. Once set in each indervidual Emulator they should all now work fine in HyperSpin/HyperLaunch etc. Step 5: Load up HyperHQ, click the controls tab and setup your X-Arcade there also to control HyperSpin. Same in HyperLaunchHQ under Global>General Settings then the Controls tab just to be sure. Step 6: If you have reprogrammed your X-Arcade, then you will need to edit the config file you put in your Ctrlr folder to suit the new assignments made, if you need help with this just ask below. 6. Hi, Was just wondering. The prices of Open Frame monitors on eBay seems a bit excessive given the fact the size etc. I was wondering, can you just strip down a normal monitor from its casing and use that? or am I missing something here? Thanks
  7. Ah actually, is working fine on emulator but NOT in HyperLaunch now. I got the official CFG file from X-Arcade and put in the MameUI controllers folder and works, but something in HyperLaunchHD is overwriting it? Also, do you guys have a Hyperlaunch folder with normal HL, then inside that you have the HyperLaunchHD dir with that inside there? just wanted to check that is right also. But yeah, control overwriting? weird...
  8. Ah finally found it. Stupidly assumed it wouldn't be an image file but some kinda font coding. For anyone else wondering I found it in: HyperSpin/Media/Mame/Images/Special/ Just zipped up the Special folder for backup and deleted it after. And GHutch, I replied it here to save flooding the forum with the same question, thanks though
  9. I'm having a very weird problem... I've got everything working fine in certain places, but not where it counts. When I run the emulator all works fine keymap wise. When I run a game through hyperlaunchHD all runs fine. But then for some reason in HyperSpin the direction keys for P1 and Player 1 coin buttons change to the default?! I can't figure out where Hyperspin could be changing whats in Hyperlaunch, or if I'm missing something in Hyperlaunch?
  10. Yeah when I got my new TV they tried to charge me insane money for a HDMI cable that has a higher transfer rate for 3D etc, I found it for 10% of the price on eBay when I got home.
  11. Yeah I went to try get one from a local store but not only did they not have USB 2 PS2, only PS2 2 USB but look how much they are charging for it! http://www.maplin.co.uk/ps2-to-usb-active-adaptor-26315 Its beyond a joke! an adaptor on eBay is £1 max! ha
  12. Was just wondering if there was an easier way to do this other than changing the image now we're in HyperSpin 3? Also, can we disable the game name from showing at the bottom also? I feel like its mostly not needed if you have the themes etc, would be nice to have the option of it being there or not. Thanks
  13. I think re-programming my X-Arcade is the way forward, but I need to plug a PS2 keyboard in the back of it to do so...and i've only got a USB one here at the mo...typical ha, eBay here I come. Edit: I also found this But swapping the whole keyboard around might be good for HyperSpin and Emulators etc, but when you wanted to use your keyboard to edit game lists etc and just generally use Windows it would be a pain having everything all muddled up? wonder if you can save keyboard profiles and swap between them etc...might try this while waiting on PS2 keyboard. Edit 2: Also checking out this like you suggested http://www.autohotkey.com/
  14. Thanks pal, am going to sit down later and try figure it out. If I get it all working i'll post the info on how to on here also.
  15. Thanks for the amazing replies guys, am very greatful Rattlehead, thanks, great to have another X-Arcader on here ha, am going to try both methods a little later and see if any help. Did you get your Tankstick working with NullDC though? Polemicist, thanks for the reply, stupidly I didn't think to check the X-Arcade site haha.
  16. Hi all, I think this is my very first post on here, though I'm sure there will be many more once its all working, I plan to contribute a lot of artwork you way also in due time So far, i've got HyperLaunch/Spin etc all working, and that is all great, however I'm having some major issues when trying to config my X Arcade Dual with emulators. I tried to config the controls via each emulator outside of HyperLaunch, but weird things like only one button on NullDC and the directions are working? and on Snes9X I can't configure the 2nd button that is assigned to ALT. Also, i'm having problems where me pressing a button also effects the emulator or windows, i.e if I press what might be punch, it might also open the file menu...you know? I want to disable it effecting anything other than the game. Is there a better way to sort this out? am I missing something really obvious? or is this a big problem? Thank you.
