  • BUG: MAME System Creation Continues To Fail

    MAME system creation continues to fail when using the option for only your ROM list.  The MAME Plugin gets stuck at 5% at the Preparing MAME Install during the Setup Process.  This issue has been occurring over several versions and has not been resolved.  The full MAME database option works.  Why is that option even there?  It just loads all the crap you don't have in addition to what you do have and gums everything up.  Totally unnecessary.

    If you're going to keep that option, at least have a setting in the wheel that allows only the ROMS you have to remain in the wheel and not display absolutely everything.

    Yesterday I removed Hyperspin completely again and install a clean latest version.
    Decided to check to add SNK Neo Geo.
    Installed, following the recommendations, to run via Retroarch, FBA core.
    Most of the games from SNK romset were unidentified and the media was not downloaded.
    But even those games that have been decided are not launched.

    I removed this Game System from HyperHQ and decided as in the old HS to add Neo Geo using MAME as an emulator to run.
    Go to Systems, click plus, select MAME, select DOWNLOAD MAME, specify the folder with the Neo Geo romset and OH MIRACLE!! The progress bar went from zero, passed the damn 10% and reached 100%!!

    But there is a problem, I indicated when creating the system that the HS display name is SNK Neo Geo MVS, but HS instead showed - MAME.

    Plus - perhaps the installation of the mother fails if you specify during the setup - the path to the already installed mother in Windows.

    Minus - the display name specified in HS is incorrect, which will not allow you to apply the theme you need for this system, and install other arcade systems using mom (cave, capcom play system, etc)

    I believe the plan is to have any subset of mame to be handled by the collection system. That has not been worked on yet. Just straight mame import for now with the plugin.

    The custom name issue still stands
