finaldj Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Hey guys totally new to this, I bought a HD 5TB hyperspin, the biggest problem I have is the Daemon tools install. the guy included a lite version 4461-0327 which has SPTD 1.83 the box for this was also greyed out. it wouldn't install the SCSI drive told me that my version was out of date and took me to a website that had the latest one 1.87. Still even though it was installed everytime I clicked on install SCSI it insisted on a new version but it was already installed. even clean the reg out etc. so I restored to a clean install of windows 8 pro 64 bit. This time I installed the updated SPTD first then Daemon tools and on install version 1.83 was highlighted as an uncheckable box so unticked it and installed Daemon tools and everything was fine I got hyperspin up and running no problems. Windows asked to update to 8.1 so I did and upon doing this it took off all the virtual drive and I was back to square 1 again with the same as above going around in circles. So I am doing another install of windows and wondering if I install every windows update even 8.1 then run SPTD update to 1.87 should this work? Not sure why when installing 8.1 It messed up all the virtual drives and reverted back to 1.83 but once it does that you can't get it off. Just looking for some advice and has anyone had problems like this and got around it? the other thing is do I need SCSI to get some games on Hyperspin to work? thanks
tonycrew Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I use the Scsi for Sega Saturn Emu SSF, i can't answer your problem with DTLite and Win 8.1 have you looked on the official DTLite site for info on running it on Win 8.1..?
Metalzoic Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I can't help either as nothing I'm running on my setup has ever needed Demon Tools/SCSI etc... Well other than Daphne and it only needed it briefly. I do have the lite version installed though.
finaldj Posted July 4, 2015 Author Posted July 4, 2015 The hyperspin software mounts the games to a virtual drive other than the roms I guess. I was just following the setup guide which asks me to install SCSI as a virtual drive as well. my guess is that if it doesn't work this time I will run it without and see how it plays out.
