uz1290 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Hi all, I am in the stage of trying to implement my controls to hyperspin. I have successfully mapped my buttons and joystick but I seem to have a problem with launching the game using my "enter" button. I can launch fine from keyboard but get a missing ini error when attempting to do so from button. I am following this guide http://gameroomsolutions.com/hyperspin-controller-setup-with-joytokey-and-gamepad/ The guide makes a note to disable the read only attribute of the rocket launcher folder. (The guide attributes the read only setting to actually being the source of the error) Unfortunately, I have had no success in doing so. I have tried the command attrib -r +s <folder path> to no avail. Does anybody know a work around this? From what I read it is not possible in a sense for windows xp, vista & 7 for you to change these attributes. Is this statement correct? I have no problem trying out xpadder just wanted to see what you as more experienced users would suggest. Am I likely to run into the same problems with xpadder? Thanks in advance and any help is appreciated. I apologize in advance if you all feel this thread should go elsewhere.
damageinc86 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I use pinnacle game profiler for my main controller (xbox360) to navigate hyperspin (up, down, left, right, esc, enter, and a hyperpause key). Works like a charm, no need to mess with anything in RL or HS. Antimicro takes care of the rest of my console controllers to navigate hyperspin with an "auto-profile" that detects hyperspin.exe and activates it for all of them. Maybe give something like that a shot?
Dunk3000 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 The only read only error I had with joy to key was the actual ini file in the joy to key folder. That seems to be set to read only on install. So just change that so it's no longer read only and your settings should then change and save. I didn't mess with any hs or rl files Way I got my set up working is joy to key is launched by hyperspin-fe.com at startup (added in hyperhq) and this has my mappings for controlling hs. I then use rl to assign different profiles per system - otherwise my hyperspin key settings would be applied to everything. If u don't want key mappings for a particular system then you make a blank profile that effectively turns it off. Oh, and so you can control the front end when returning to it after playing a game, you need to create a front end profile in rl (that's a carbon copy of the profile you originally ran on hs startup). Sorry, kinda put more in this answer than you needed, but seeing as you reading a 3rd party guide I thought it might help. Do we have a hyperspin joytokey tutorial? Shall I make one?

Thanks for the reply! Changing the attributes of just the ini file sounds like that just might be it. Your set up and mine sound somewhat related. I will post back results later today when I get home. Although a brief tutorial would be greatly appreciated. That is, if there isn't one floating around. I tried a Google search before trying to follow the guide above but didn't seem to find another walk through.
TepZeppi Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Hi guys, I have a problem and don't know what to do. When I'm in my HyperLaunchHQ, I always have the sign '!' in a yellow triangle, what says : Module ID 63........98 is used in more than one module. How can I fix that? I followed the guide and do exactly as the told but when I launch Hyperspin, I can't use any button. O wait, I can turn the weel by pushing left on my gamepad but nothing else works. I hope someone can help me. tnx

Based off what it said I downloaded a new version of joytokey, as I had an older copy. Once I did that the issue was resolved.

Based off what it said I downloaded a new version of joytokey, as I had an older copy. Once I did that the issue was resolved. I will double check that. But I just downloaded the joytokey files yesterday? I think I am on versions 5.7 if I remember correctly. I can give you a definite answer once I get home later on this evening. Would you happen to know what versions you were on when you got the error?
pofo14 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 If you downloaded the yesterday you should be fine. I will have to check what version I was on when I get home. I will also try to recreate my error and see if that helps me at all related to your issue.
uz1290 Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 Quick update: I made a blank "JoyToKey.ini" file in my directory. Referencing the FAQ section of JoyToKey if an .ini file was not there to begin with it is most likely due to the folder being read only. I checked the properties of the .ini file I made and it is not read only. Don't know if the folder settings take priority over the file within :/. I also get this error message as well but I believe it is still due to the same reason.
uz1290 Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 I think I may have gotten it! I had to change the setting under my MAME keymapper settings as Dunk3000 referenced above. Thanks for the insight! Will provide picture of my settings briefly.
