HyperSpin Quick Start Files

Hi Guys,

I've got my bartop setup and rockin' about 75 systems -- I'm not adding the Computer systems just yet. It's a 2 Player, 6 Button layout with 3 Admin keys (Escape, Pause, Select) plus P1 Start, P1 Coin, P1 Start, P2 Coin and Left / Right pinball flippers. For those that recognize the layout, it's a clone of MikeKim's amazing RETROCADE bartop.

I helped someone get setup the other day by sharing some of my config files + WiniPac keymap layout. It was silky smooth dropping the files into his existing emulators / system, and he was up and running in a matter of minutes.

With that said -- and yes, I realize this won't help everyone, nor will it be a one-size-fits-all solution -- but I thought it might be helpful for beginners if I shared the following:

MiniPac Wiring Diagram + WiniPac Keymapping Diagram

Matching drop-in RetroArch configs for all systems

Matching AAE drop-in key configs for all games

Matching drop-in MESS key configs for many systems

Matching drop-in Default.cfg config keymapping for MAME / HBMAME -- including 4 player games via XBOX 360 controllers

That would essentially get 2 player cabinet builders with similar control panels -- most bartops are pretty similar to this layout -- up running on the following systems, almost instantaneously (aside from roms, you're on your own there):

AAE

Amstrad GX4000

Atari 2600

Atari 5200

Atari 7800

Atari Jaguar

Atari Lynx

Bandai WonderSwan (Sorta)

Sega Genesis

Sega Master System

Sega SG-1000

With that said, am I underthinking this?

Are there any restrictions from sharing config files without the emulators?

This is the kind of thing the scene needs!

Too many people spend too many hours repeating a setup process that is overly complicated and mind numbing, so anything that makes that process easier is a benefit. In fact it could be much more automated. I don't have the skills to create such an installation package but surely there must be somebody who does?
