shitoken Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Hi Friends Most of my systems are configured with Retroarch. Until I find a corner & build a bartop, for now I cant wait to set up my 1 arcade stick and PS4 joystick 1) Which way should go? a)Setup system by system in RA based on each config or use Xpadder > (profile for emulator or system? ) and then map the keys to RA Keyboard? 2) Do I need to perform this action 1 by 1 for each systems or I can setup just one system as global keys and use this with all cores/configs? Systems I am using which need key mappings are as follow Nintendo Systems NEO GEO SEGAPSX PSP Lynx CP3 NEC PC Systems Please guide me to the best possible & less headache ways . Appreciate your valuable comments.
pofo14 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 As opposed to a or b, both should work so it's up to you. Personally I mapped my keys in RA, felt I would stick with native emulator functionality. I mapped the keys in the global config, since I use an ipac for a control panel and the mappings don't change. I would assume that would work for your arcade stick also. You can also setup the configs at the core level if you did need to vary the mappings by core. Good luck and post back if you need any help.
shitoken Posted July 23, 2015 Author Posted July 23, 2015 thank you for your reply pofo14. where is the global config file ?
shitoken Posted July 23, 2015 Author Posted July 23, 2015 I have gone thru your post http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/showthread.php?1421-RetroArch-Input-Mapping-for-Keyboard Specifically for the 6 Button Genesis controller, you need to make sure your retroarch-core-options.cfg is configured properly for the controller. This step will apply to some other emulators that have multiple controller types. Cant find this setting in retroarch-core-options.cfg Iam on latest version.Where can I edit 3 or 6 buttons?
pofo14 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 What core are you using. I was using pico in that post, I also setup genesis gx plus which didn't seem to need it. Either way I will post my retroarch-core-options.cfg when I get home tonight. The "global config" is the RetroArch.cfg file. That also has the keyboard mappings also.
shitoken Posted July 24, 2015 Author Posted July 24, 2015 Hi bro I am using genesis gx plus for most of sega consoles. You mean this core I do not need to edit 3 or 6 buttons? What is the auto config for ?
pofo14 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Sorry I got tied up last night. For genesis gx plus I didn't notice the extra setting in the core config. Today I will make my configs available to you so you can see if that helps you out.
shitoken Posted July 24, 2015 Author Posted July 24, 2015 I have noticed in config folder some cfg files are with same name but have dll.examplegenesis_plus_gx_libretro.dllgenesis_plus_gx_libretro What is the difference ? Can I delete them?and below 2 files.retroarch-core-options.retroarch-core-options
project Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 This should work. Been mapping all night myself. Since you have Xpadder; Steps 1) Load up RocketLauncher 2) Load up a game and hit F1 for the RetroArch GUI 3) Settings -> Input Options 4) Bind Mode: RetroPad 5) Scroll down passed User 16. Look for the Keyboard mapping for that emulator core below the "Menu Toggle (default F1)". Make note of the keybinds. 6) Tab back to Rocketlauncher -> Keymapping -> Add new Xpadder Profile -> System Profile (if you don't plan on changing from RetroArch) 7) Set mapping according to RetroArch GUI. -> Save it. I believe that's it. -Edit: I would set it up individually for each system. The buttons names will be different for every core @ step 5

project Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Did you find the Menu Toggle = F1 for RetroArch? It's under that. http://i.imgur.com/rVhLvYA.png
shitoken Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 Did you find the Menu Toggle = F1 for RetroArch? It's under that. http://i.imgur.com/rVhLvYA.png yes I found this , do you mean those are the keyboard keys which I can use to set xpadder?
pofo14 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Yes. Those are the keys that retroarch is setup for by default. You can change those as well if that makes it easier for you. Meaning if you had a keypadder profile already you could remap retroarch to match that.
