Understanding Retroarch 1.2.2 controls...

Greetings.

I've not looked at RetroArch at all until now. I got an X-Arcade tankstick which basically works as a keyboard and that has been problematic in the old RetroArch builds. I've read that it now supports full keyboard so that ought to do it.

However, I've run into a snag. Its all set up and I can start games from it. Not a problem. The arrowkeys and keyboard buttons set by default work fine (x,z etc).

Now, say I want to remap Up to Page Down (just testing).

First I go into Settings and change Bind Mode to RetroKeyboard.

I then go into "Input User 1 Binds".

I change "User 1 Down D-Pad" from "Key: down" to "Key: keypad3". Eh? keypad3 is Page Down? Ok I guess..

Now I can not go down in the menu any more.. even if I use Up to get back and remap the key and hit the down arrow instead, it gets set to "Key: keypad2" and still does not work. It does not work in the game either if I back out of the menu.

So, could any kind soul please explain to me how to configure the joystick buttons to be able to use a keyboard and not break the menu system in the process?

Thanks!

I assume you are using a regular keyboard when doing this? keypad 3 is down on x-arcade, once you set the x-arcade mappings, your regular keyboard is not going to work the same way (keypad 3 will now be down, NOT arrow down, even in the menu, etc.) You can see the full x-arcade-keyboard mappings on the x-arcade site, and even re-program them if you want.

Yeah, thats not the problem. I don't even have the X-Arcade connected. Just want to remap down to the down arrow, using a normal keyboard to test it without success.
