Demul and AV Cable

Hello there.

I've run into some Dreamcast games which won't run with the AV cable plugged in. Question is, is there a way to make the emulator not use it so the games will run? Or is there another way?

Thanks for your replies :)

If you're using Hyperlaunch/Rocketlauncher, you can set the cable type per game in the module.

Edit: Not sure about Demul actually. I use NullDC.

I only had problems with NullDC hence why I used Demul, but thanks for the info, I'll have to find out which games work and which don't.

Is there any benefit on enabling the AV cable all the time? I mean, what if I decided not to use the AV cable option for all games to just make sure all games work, which problems would I run into?

As others have stated, you can enable using a specific cable type for specific games within RocketLauncher.  For both Null DC and Demul, I'd recommend leaving the default cable type as the standard (because most games will run this way), and then changing the cable only for specific games that require it.

For Null DC, you click the edit global module settings button within the emulators tab for your system, then choose the ROM tab, select/add the game you'd like to set a different cable type for and choose the cable you'd like from the drop down (in my experience, it's usually going to be VGA(1)(RGB) but you can try any of the cables present to see what works).  For Demul, the process is very similar.  Go into the emulator tab for the system, choose the edit global module settings icon, select the roms tab, choose the game you'd like to change the cable type for, and then change the video mode from the drop down menu at the bottom right (typically it will need to be changed to TV(RGB), but again you can try any of the options to get the game to run).
