jrock1000 Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 im just finishing my megadrive tutorial of simply austin and for sum reason each time i load a game in rocket launcher or hyperspin my pc volume gets turned off to 0. but if i load a mame game the volume is stays at what i set it @ e.g 100% it was working earlier then just stopped :/ iv checked the volume mixer and as i load a genesis game it sets all volume controls to off. i turned it up had sound and exited the rom, tried to load again and it returns it to nil.has anyone had this issue before?

jrock1000 Posted September 7, 2015 Author Posted September 7, 2015 In rocket launcher under settings like the third dropdown from the top, be sure that mute emulator is false Tapatalk signature hi mate i went in to rocketlauncher fade general and changed the mute setting to false (it was the only one i could see). but now the kids are in bed and i only have the laptop running i noticed that the sounds isnt being turned off completely but turned down to 2/100
jrock1000 Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 just finished getting nes up and running and it appears to be retroarch being the issue as im having the exact same sound issues as the megadrive
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 check the volume mixer ion windows WHEN RETROARCH IS RUNNING to ensure the volume is set to normal with windows. then the only option could be inside the RetroArch settings. Go to sound settings and make sure you have it turned on or at least up? Simply Austin's YouTube
jrock1000 Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 check the volume mixer ion windows WHEN RETROARCH IS RUNNING to ensure the volume is set to normal with windows. then the only option could be inside the RetroArch settings. Go to sound settings and make sure you have it turned on or at least up? thanks austin iv done this and will put up photos the first one shows full volume for everything while running hyperspin. then the second photo shows how it instantly changes once it launches with retroarch. tonight i have even tried to remove retroarch and reinstall it and still have the same issue
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 hmmmmm... that is a strange one. at least we now know its the volume in windows thats triggering it. This only happens when you load a system using RetroArch then? Simply Austin's YouTube
jrock1000 Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 correct mame works perfect. one minute it was working then i was on rocketlauncher and then it was gone. can you show me in the .ini retroarch file i can check the volume?
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 I would mate, but thats why Im puzzled. You see if it was RetroArch volume it would do it just in the games, maximum I would think the Windows for RetroArch turned off. But as you can see it turns everything down on your system. That to me would say its something in the module, although you only seem to be the only one with the issue and everyone else has the same module with no error like this. The only other thing it could be is windows volume/sound settings itself. Maybe its set either default settings for the RA launch or some bug? Simply Austin's YouTube
jrock1000 Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 id be more tempted to say its the module as i said i was tinkering along to a video of yours setting up globals default by memory then it buggered up
jrock1000 Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 its not your guid i have had it working before but moved folders and stuffed my setup so i had to start from scratch
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 what Windows are you using? Simply Austin's YouTube
jrock1000 Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 im running windows 10. should i downgrade back to 8?
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 no no no no mate... you stick with your windows! hehehe Right, I cant check for certain as I only have HL installed on this PC... but they almost the same. In Fade settings/General theres an option to fade mute Emulator on start. It says Windows XP mutes the entire system. This was pre windows 10 and I hear much of the new windows setup was based on XP. Maybe its this? Check it to false for Megadrive and test?? Thats if its even in RocketLauncher hehehehehe Simply Austin's YouTube
