SkyHighGam3r Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 So here's the thing. I have all of my Game Boy, Game Boy Color, & Game Boy Advance games in one wheel. I'm able to do this flawlessley with VBA-M, but I want to load them via RetroArch because of the crtgeomcruved shader it has that makes your TV look like a retro one. So here's the issue: RetroArch's Game Boy Module loads up with the gambette core. This will load GB and GBC games just fine, but not GBA. I used the module settings to force RetroArch to load in this wheel with VBA-M's core. It then loaded GBA games just fine. However, it won't load up GB or GBC games now. So here's my question: Is there a way to somehow have it load the VBA-M core when I boot a GBA, and the gambette core when I load a GB/C game? Or, is there some way to have the VBA-M core load GB/GBC games? This one boggled my mind a bit, because the actual VBA-M will load GB/C/A games without a hitch. I'd really appreciate any help.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Not really looked into it to be honest mate for that kind of thing. Multi emu yes, but not multi core within the emu. If it is possible Im guessing it would be in the game options tab but Im not sure if that is done in the module... hmmmmmm - Load up the list of games in RocketLauncher. - Right click a GBA game. - You should have a options of something like change rom/game settings. see if theres anything there to play with??? Bound to be there is it is, but if not only the rLauncher guys could help I would think? BTW.. GBA vid is being done now Simply Austin's YouTube
SkyHighGam3r Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Yeah, that's kind of the idea I was thinking, but I couldn't find any option that would let me do it per core, just per emulator.Maybe I'll just use VBA for this wheel. I won't have the screen curve, but silver lining, I couldn't get that to work with the Neo Geo Pocket, so maybe I'll just set my handheld games to look like a flat LCD or something. The nice thing about VBA is it let's you play with the colors. GBA's native colors aren't necessarily vivid, but they look very authentic. As always, thanks for your input SimplyAustin, I've made mountains of progress this last week with your assistance.
SkyHighGam3r Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Nevermind, I take back what I said about VBA running it flawlessly....I keep setting the emulator to Automatic (Instead of GB or GBC or GBA mode) Which allows it to do what I want..but as soon as I try to use RocketLauncher to do it, it automatically sets the mode to GB... which gives me an error everytime I try to load a GBC game. How do you edit settings for emulators in RocketLauncher like that?
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 If you can do it, it will be in the module tab mate Simply Austin's YouTube
SkyHighGam3r Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 SimplyAustin, you always set me straight! lolI pulled up the RL's module settings, and there wasn't anything there, but I saw there was an option for a Module Editor...So I found the .ahk ( I thought those were for setting up controls lol ) and I popped it open in notepad.Sure enough, there was a line for each Gameboy System, and a number assigned to each one.I switched them all to GBA and VIOLA! Now they all boot properly =D
