Lazzeri Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Hi there, I´m starting to play a little more with theme customizations but there is something that is making me mad. I´m trying to use a console picture in the background, behind the video window, in a way that, when using the wheel, the console shows up, and when in a game it doesn´t. It worked perfectly in one system but not in others. E.G: In my Dreamcast theme it works like a charm (pics embedded). But in my A7800 it doesn´t. And I don´t have a frakking clue why. Checked and double-checked XML structure on both and I just can´t understand why as they seem identical to me. Any clue? How do I select an item "depth"? Here is DC when on Wheel. You can see the console in the background. Here is when in a game. DC is hidden behind the video window. Here is A7800. Console pic is showing IN FRONT of video window. And I just don´t know why.
ryuuji Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Can you say which Artwork folders are those boxarts for both systems ? (egg. Dreamcast 3D box Artwork3, disc Artwork4) #thisismydesign by ryuuji is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. Lazzeri Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 Hello Guys. Thank you for your reply! Dreamcast: Artwork1: Console pic (behind video window) Artwork2: Logo Artwork3: Game Box Artwork4: Nothing Atari 5200: Artwork1: Logo Artwork2: Console pic (in front of video window) Artwork3: Game Box Artwork4:Game Cart Should I assume that Artwork1 goes "by default" as the deepest layer, then video, then artwork2 / 3 / 4, in that order? Is this order predetermined? Thank you again!
ryuuji Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Yes. That's why the Atari one shows (Artwork3 box, Artwork4 cart). Do the same for the Dreamcast you will get it right. #thisismydesign by ryuuji is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. Thank you for yet another response ryuuii. I think I haven't made myself clear... I am looking for a way to make console picture on A5200 theme show BEHIND VIDEO. So my dreamcast theme is the model I'm trying to replicate. I already got the idea that Artwork 1/2/3/4 are "piled over" on that order. What I don't get yet is where the VIDEO window goes on this. I am having the impression that they pile up as Artwork 1 / Video / Artwork 2/3/4. Is that right? Thank you again!
ryuuji Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 My bad. The video have the option ''below wheel'' that could help maybe... I m sure Artwork 3 and 4 are the only ones that can be placed over the video... btw You posted Atari 7200 screenshot and details for Atari 5200 Artwork1 will never be on top of the video. #thisismydesign by ryuuji is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. Ooops. :-) Yeah, everything is about A7800. I'll give it a try. I'll also play a little using the console pic as Artwork1. I still fear I haven't made myself clear enough. My goal is, when using the wheel to pick a game, that a console pic shows up. Just like it does on my dreamcast theme. And once a game is selected, video and box / cart pic shows up. It is working on Dreamcast. But not in both A5200 / A7800. I'm starting to think that the secret is, Artwork1 is by default shown *deeper* than video window. EDIT: you just said "Artwork1 will never be on top of the video." so I guess that solves it all! I'll give it a try later as soon as I go home (working righ now, darn). I've tried to use the console pic int the background image but it gets really distorted when the system resizes it. And I am running out of ideas. Thanks again!
ryuuji Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Ok so you want the console to show while browsing the game list and the the video to show on top of it when selecting a game. Put the console oic in your Artwork1 in the Atari theme... and make sure the video option ''below wheel'' is NOT checked... should work #thisismydesign by ryuuji is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. Lazzeri Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 YES! Exactly that! Just like the two Dreamcast pictures show. I'll give it a try tonight. Thank you!
ryuuji Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Np... little tip if you are using widescreen and the artwork look distorted, resize it in Photoshop ... 75% width/100% height ... #thisismydesign by ryuuji is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.
