Controller Configuration Issues

Hi Guys,

I am having (and have always had) big problems with my controllers,

I currently use wireless Xbox 360 controllers with a dongle and also a Madcatz Ps3 Fightstick through a Cronus max set to Xbox,

A long time ago I found out about the conflict between the Xbox 360 controller and the fightstick,

So I Decided I would make a separate Hyperspin just for fighting games (im an enthusiast) and i would simply unplug the fightstick before launch and remove it after.

I use Xpadder as the software to remap buttons to keys, which I use for my emulators, etc,

The exception to this is when I play a game which has Xbox controller support for example SF4,Where it is much nicer to see the xbox buttons appear in the menus etc,

I use a script which turns off xpadder when one of these games is launched and then turns it back on when the game exits,

the Xpadder software cannot tell the difference between the fightstick and the 360 controller,

and even more annoying is that if two wireless controllers are attached then it cannot tell the difference between the two,

I added Wii remotes to the setup recently and the whole thing went mental for a while, but thats another issue

Basically the setup is far from ideal as i would like to have all my controllers plugged in at all times,

So im hoping someone knows of an alternative to Xpadder which can tell the difference between multiple controllers?

This still doesn't solve the issue of the fightstick having to be removed but i was thinking maybe to run a script to disable the fightstick when the non fightstick hyperspin runs?

At the moment this is ruining my enjoyment of Hyperspin and has basically stopped me from using it which is a shame,

If anyone has an ideas on how I could solve any of these issues it would be appreciated,

Thanks,

P

We are newbies to this and just purchased a fully built system from someone. I'm not running the most current versions of everything but I'm ok with that as they all work perfectly fine. The only thing we have to do is configure our Xbox remote to work with all of the games. We also downloaded XPadder but I'm having a hard time setting this up. It just seems there's so many steps to make all of this work together and I have ZERO programming experience so I'm really overwhelmed. We also just purchased a fight stick so now I'm nervous about how that's gonna work, based on your experience. Right now, my main goal is just figuring out how to set up this remote so we can PLAY!

In HyperLaunchHQ, I enabled XPadder and all of the settings are correct, I think. I'm now in the Global settings and created 3 new profiles under XPadder: Default, HyperSpin and HyperLaunch. I guess I need to know what I need to do for each of these profiles. I know I have to edit them in the bottom but not sure what they all do. I'm also wondering if there's a way to set up the buttons on the Xbox remote to work the same all the way across all of the emulators or if I'm gonna have to go into each one and reset all the keys.

I have also set up my remote and all of its keys in XPadder but I haven't assigned keystrokes to them as I'm unsure what keys need to go where because all the emulators say something different. I just feel like plugging in a remote and making it work shouldn't be so complicated. I don't understand the need for all the key strokes and why each emulator has different keys. Why can't all A buttons be the same, all B the same, all escape the same, etc etc?!?!

This has taken us 4 days just to get to this point and we are COMPLETELY new to this! Again, we have no programming experience and just want to play games! Hoping someone can help!

I think you need to have a word with who you bought your System from mate.  There is a million combinations of possibilities as to why your controls may not be working.  As you dont know Hyperspin and we dont know your setup, the most logical people to ask would be the people you got the product from mate?  I am sure they are a very legitimate company and will give you the best customer service to get you setup.

Good luck mate!
