cowbells Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Hey guys. I know this is a better topic for the rlauncher forums, but I couldn't load that site for some reason. I checked and isitdown was reporting that the site is responsive, anyone else having problems getting on there? Anyway, last night I was toying with launching hacked roms from the multi game launcher. Everything works except the cart images on the multi game screen. Tor Final Fantasy VII on PSX, for example, I have three images in my corresponding MultiGame folder in RL media: Disc_image_1, Disc_image_2, and Disc_image_3. Each one is pic of a FF7 disc, I load the Multi Game screen, the discs spin, everything looks dandy. However, when I try to do this for SNES, I can't load custom cart images. Here's my example that I was working on. I have Super Mario World (USA). I renamed it in the database and renamed the rom Super Mario World (USA) (Cart 1). I then got two hacked games Super Mario World Odyssey and The Second Reality Project Reloaded renamed them Super Mario World (USA) (Cart 2) and Super Mario World (USA) (Cart 3) respectively. In the Multi Game screen, these roms load fine, but then I tried to change the generic cart image to title screens of each game by following the same naming convention used for PSX discs. So, Cart_image_1, Cart_image_2, and Cart_image_3. This didn't work. I renamed everything to Disc to see if that would do anything. Nothing. Folders and everything are named correctly. Any clue? Why can't I change the art on these files? Why does it work for PSX but not SNES? Are there certain image requirements for this media? I'm really confused. I even opened the PSX discs in PS and resized the title screens to the same size and they still didn't show. Do they have to be an exact size and shape? I really like this idea 'cause I don't have to create a bunch of wheels and videos to add hacked games and keeps them organized next to their bigger brothers. Can anyone help?
cowbells Posted September 16, 2015 Author Posted September 16, 2015 Also, does anyone know if there is a limit on how many discs, carts, tapes and all that you can have for a single game? Btw, I should mention, that I'm going to be setting my HyperHQ to show only games with wheel images, so these games will be hidden from my main wheel. You'll only be able to view them if you launch the base game and go into MultiGame. I think it's a pretty slick way of doing this, however, without being able to show title screens, you can't tell what the games are.
