LEDBlinky 4 way/8 Way Control

I have LEDBlinky performing the automatic switching of 4 way to 8 way for my Ultimarc ServoStiks. It is performing flawlessly for just about every game except a couple of minor exceptions. There are just a couple of games it is setting to 8 way when 4 way would be more appropriate. I have tried changing the MAME control.ini without success, is there another step I should be performing?

LEDBlinky uses the game's "primary control" to determine the ServoStik mode. In the controls.ini file, the primary control is determined by the P1Controls value.

For example: P1Controls=4-way Joystick+joy4way

Is this the value you tried changing?

Another option would be to use the LEDBlinky Controls Editor. For the MAME group, import the rom you want to modify. Select the Common controls tab and delete the existing (8-way) primary control. Then add a new control, select JOY4WAY and make sure to check the Primary Control box. By the way, any changes you make using the LEDBlinky controls editor will have no effect on mame - only blinky.

One thing I think I've noticed is that the lack of an entry defaults to 8 way.
