SkyHighGam3r Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I have 2 computers.A Laptop that I do 90% of my hyperspin work on (That way I can do it at work lol) and a desktop computer. Naturally the desktop computer is much more powerful, and therefore better suited for emulation. Because of this, I recently decided to add in Sega Dreamcast, PS2, PSP, Gamecube and Wii. However, only on my Desktop. Now, I took my ENTIRE hyperspin build, which only exists in 2 folders:C:/HyperspinC:/Games and I copied them from my Laptop, to an external HDD, and then to my desktop. At first, all seemed fine. Xpadder booted right up with all the same settings, RocketLauncher/UI seemed to have all the settings working. I tested the setup I started with NullDC, PCSX2, & Ishiiruka-Dolphin. All Golden. However... I ran into a problem with PSP that I cannot explain. I setup PSP via RetroArch on my Laptop, it worked perfectly, but there was some stutter so I decided to include it in the migration to the better PC. Now, when I try and boot up a game via RocketLauncher UI, RetroArch doesn't open... I just get an error about having to check if the module I'm using is correct... I tried manually setting the module to PPSSPP via global module settings, but it changed nothing. None of this I had to do before, RetroArch just booted right up when I tried to run PSP. I also tried just opening RetroArch without RL or HS... and it seems to run incredibly fast. That is to say, the menu that opens on launch acts like it took a bunch of meth or something and runs at 5x the speed it normally does. If I push down for just a millisecond the selection shoots to the bottom of the screen, and any scrolling text is just a blur because it's going so fast.It might be worth noting that I am using the RetroArch build from Simply Austin's tutorials, however I have updated it with the nightly build files & cores, but the last time was weeks ago.Does anyone know what's going on with RetroArch here? I'm at a loss. I'd really like to get the migration process as simplified as possible, as I intend to copy this over to my freinds computers when I'm finished. EDIT: The error I am getting looks something like this: "There was an error waiting for the window "RetroArch ahk_class RetroArch". Please check you have the correct version emulator installed for this module, followed any notes in the module, and have this emulator working outside your Frontend first. Also turn off Fade to see if you are hiding your problem"
griffin518 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 RA running really quickly may have to do with your more powerful desktop PC in conjunction with the monitor refresh... sync the rate and see if that helps. SkyHighGam3r Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 I'm sorry, that was all greek to me. Sync the refresh? Is it worth noting that I run my Desktop through my 40" TV?And now that I think of it, I don't know if that would be the issue (The display) because I hook my laptop's TV-Out to it all the time.
SkyHighGam3r Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 Well I've fixed the issue. I don't recall what I did to fix the Module error, but I know I re-installed the entire emulator from scratch. (Simply Austin's packages are great and all, but nothing beats a clean install)I also figured out how to fix the speed issue by turning on the frame limiter. I was running at about 600fps in the menu, but that fixed it immediatly to 60fps. Some other issues popped up that I fixed, and one that I can't figure out, but I am going to do a differant thread for it since it's wildly differant and all of this has been solved.
