Rotgut Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I get no sound while playing Ameri Darts, I've even gone into the operator's menu in-game, nothing. The TAB options show volume set to "0" and there is no way to move it up, only down. Strange. Has anyone else had this problem?
Rotgut Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 What version of mame are you running? I just tested mine (.167) and the sound works fine. .137 I believe. I don't have many issues with roms, it's very rare. Otherwise I might consider updating my version of MAME. I just figure why mess with it if things are working ok, you know?

Don't forget to also update your "MAME extras" which has a bunch of the sound samples you'll be missing otherwise.
Rotgut Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 Yeah, I completely understand. My 1st setup was .159 and after getting it setup I said I was never going to update it. Then I decided to download a complete .165 set and now I update whenever a new version is released. Anyway, I did a quick search on mamedev.org and it seems Ameri Darts was updated twice: .138u4 Dr Decapitator and Quench added Ameri Darts internal DSP dump and TMS32015 support to the Amerdart driver. Also added savestate support to the game. .139 Quench corrected Ameri Darts audio playback rate. This exposed some cycle timing errors in the TMS32010 CPU core which are also fixed. Thanks for checking, man. When I said I think my ver. of MAME is .137 I say that because the roms I get are listed as roms for ver. .137 So here's a question: if I am getting roms that are labeled for use as .137 then does that mean I am using a version of MAME that is ver. .137 or earlier? So many versions and chd files and sound files etc, it confuses me sometimes. And I've been using MAME for nearly 15 years.

Right now I have my hands full with other emus, a new CP I designed and built myself, etc — you know how it is. heh
Rotgut Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 If you open a command prompt and run mame with the -? flag it should display the version info. Okay, cool. I will do this tonight. I'm at work right now. Thank you, btw
