sebakerckhof Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I want to run hyperspin on my freshly installed win 7 x64 machine, but both latest 1.3 and 1.4 don't start at all. When looking in the windows event log, I see this error when trying to start hyperspin: Activation context generation failed for "C:/arcade2/HyperSpin.exe".Error in manifest or policy file "C:/arcade2/HyperSpin.exe" on line 0. Invalid Xml syntax. Or the complete error: <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="SideBySide" /> <EventID Qualifiers="49409">59</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>0</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2015-11-16T19:13:53.000000000Z" /> <EventRecordID>675</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>arcade-PC</Computer> <Security /> </System> - <EventData> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data>C:/arcade2/HyperSpin.exe</Data> <Data>C:/arcade2/HyperSpin.exe</Data> <Data>0</Data> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> <Data /> </EventData> </Event> Any ideas?
sebakerckhof Posted November 19, 2015 Author Posted November 19, 2015 Thanks, but it turned out the be the classic vmmaker (too many resolutions) problem I had totally forgotten about.
Spinner Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 What is the vmmake issue? I'm having an issue on multiple PC's where HyperSpin will stop responding after hours of operation. When I check the system logs I'm getting the same Sidebyside error. I've tried a fresh install and re-downloaded all of the media but this didn't fix the problem. Any ideas?
Metalzoic Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Hyperspin has a memory leak when running for extended periods of time I thought that took days and days before it happened, or does it depend on the system? I've run mine for a week+ several times without having it crash.
Spinner Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 I'm guessing it has to do with how many theme's and video's you have. Plus both of these machines are old Windows XP machines with little ram. Has anyone created a service to clear the memory or a schedule to restart the application?
pinsanity Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Who knows. Maybe he memory is more leaky lol. It happens to all of us as we get older.
