Reefboi16 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Anybody using nestopia and try to set their key to "Exit" their emulator but when you relaunch nestopia it writes over your input and sets the key back to what it was?I understand that Nestopia re-writes the XML it uses every time it exits. I though well easy fix I will change the xml file to a read-only attribute, well that fixed the re-writing of the xml file and left my exit key untouched but now I have an error every time I exit the emulator it nags displaying this error "couldn't save the configuration" anybody have a fix for this?
rastan Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 I have xpadder setup that the (ESC) key (START BUTTON) if held will exit my emulators... Nestopia uses ALT + X? i think so I just added those keys to my Xpadder (START BUTTON) and it exits fine. I thought about changing the actual key nestopia uses to exit but Xpadder seems to handle the job.
Reefboi16 Posted December 12, 2015 Author Posted December 12, 2015 It's difficult to let nestopia handle it because nestopia re-writes the xml every time it closes so if you don't go back and change that key before closing it will revert back to the alt+x. I try to not use my key mapper as much as possible, I only use it to control HyperSpin and help me navigate the Pause menu. I try to make all changes within the emulator most of them are very easy and accommodate my needs.
Styphelus Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Use Retroarch with the Nestopia core. Why don't you download Gigapig's 43 system build? Everything is setup for you.
Reefboi16 Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 Just the feel good of doing it myself. I think I enjoy building the cabinet and doing all the configuration more than the playing lol i know funny
