JackAvenue Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Hi guys, I copied my (old) setup to a portable HDD. Everything works great except SNES (it used to work on my old PC). I want ZSNES to open in fullscreen so I changed the settings in ZSNES to custom res "41" 1920x1080. Everything works great. I can load all games perfectly and so on... BUT!!! when I open my Hyperspin and I try to load a ROM (SNES) then the emu opens but gives a black screen with an error popping up in the back: ""DirectDraw7 Set Display Mode Failed". Also all the changes I've made in the cfg file of ZSNES are gone... it resets my resolution again... everytime, no mather how much I try and save the .cfg file of ZSNES. I don't know what to do now and i hope someone can help me. All other emu's work perfect (MAME, NES, SEGA 8-bit, SEGA 16-bit). Kind regards, Nick.
Spawk Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Hi Nick. Welcome to the forums. Your problem seems easy enough to fix. But more information may be needed... specifically what versions you use. HS1.4? RL or HL? Does the version of emulator match the one specified in the module notes? You can try different versions and they may or may not work correctly but the one in the module notes has been tested and will work! In RL, first thing I would try is going to "SNES--EMULATOR--EDIT GLOBAL MODULE" and setting fullscreen to "true". Just as a side note. There are three SNES emulators that I am familiar with. ZSNES being the oldest and a long time favorite of mine before frontends ever existed. I may be wrong but I thought BSNES had the best emulation so I wanted to setup HS with it and for some reason, couldn't get it to exit cleanly. I then tried SNES9x and everything seems to work flawlessly.
rastan Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 try setting to another resolution in the emulator and try launching it from RL/HS.... I remember having a similar problem but after 50 systems I can't remember every little thing I did to get them all working. actually now that I think about it.... I dumped Zsnes for Snes9x...
