rastan Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Anyone doing XBOX emulation? I always thought Xbox emu was dead as far as any real development... I heard about Xeon which I believe only ran Halo.. and I believe another Emu called CxBx... but never got much info on it other than a quick peek at the dev's site...which in my opinion paints a picture of something for homebrew stuff (could be wrong)
CriticalCid Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 This isn't exactly true. In the last couple of months there was a huge evolution in the emulator scene. Many systems are really pushed forward in case of emulation. Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo 3DS and WiiU all have now alpha emulator prototypes. The emulator you were asking for is called XQEMU. Here’s a playlist of different games running on the current version of XQEMU. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiOt7bsZBDptPXdo150a3Wq9u3H14aAOp Like I said it’s a pretty early alpha, for now it doesn’t support sound and the videos were all accelerated. So you need to wait a little bit longer until it’s really playable. But it makes me really confident for a great future. BTW here are some other playlists for the other system emulators which are currently in the alpha. It’s pretty impressive how fast these systems were gone from impossible to emulate to be kind of running. https://www.youtube.com/user/pcmaker2/playlists?shelf_id=45&view=50&sort=dd THE POWER OF THE SUPREME RULER DESTROYS ALL EVIL! rastan Posted December 26, 2015 Author Posted December 26, 2015 WiiU is probably the one I've known the most about because I was dealing with the Wii homebrew/EMU scene for a while when I got into softModding my wii... it definitely was a shock when the WiiU emulator dropped and while unstable for obvious reasons in this early stage of development... it ran some games pretty "FLAWLESS" as in the games are actually working.. what turned me off instantly on the WiiU emulation was the size of the images... i think the zelda was like 20gig or something lol.
Dime333 Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 An emulator in pre-alpha is still an emulator in excistance. Saying there is no emulator because you can't play games at full speed with sound is simply wrong. So it's not exactly true. It's actually the opposite of that. Exactly false.
rastan Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 I think it comes down to people's use of EMULATORS... some people ONLY care about the nice side effect of actually being able to play the games... some people appreciate the fact that something can be emulated no matter if the games are unplayable.
