Skeeball_Fanatic Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hi Guys Still bumbling my way through this! I've managed to get Daphne working and all the games going ok when I use Daphne Loader, but when I audit the games in RL, a few of them show up as not working and (obviously) won't load in RL or HS. The problem games are: Cobra Command Galaxy Ranger Road Blaster When I try to run them I receive this message: Cannot find Daphne framefile "cobraab" in any Rom_Paths provided: "C:\HyperSpin|Emulators\Daphne\vldp" with any provided Rom_Extension: "txt" I note that for these three games the name RLUI has for them (cobraab, galaxy and roadblaster respectively) and the respective txt files that I have are named differently (cobra, galaxyr and rb respectively) so I assumed that must be the problem and renamed the txt files accordingly, but this hasn't fixed the issue. I'm basically a complete noob at this, so I don't have a plan B and am hoping that one of you guys might be able to help? Thanks in advance. I might also add that I have made a couple of posts here lately and have been stoked to see how quick and helpful other users are so I wanted to thank you all for that also. Skeeballer
Spawk Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hi Skee, Daphne is definitely one of harder ones to set up. I am not positive this will work: rename both: C:\HyperSpin|Emulators\Daphne\vldp\Cobra Command\cobra.txt" to cobraab.txt & C:\HyperSpin|Emulators\Daphne\framefile\cobra.txt to cobaraab.txt Providing they all show up green now, can you launch them in RL? I think more settings are necessary.
Skeeball_Fanatic Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Thanks Spawk. No luck unfortunately. Didn't show up in green, and obviously didn't run either.
Spawk Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 You have the green ones running? Through RL I mean
Spawk Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I only ask to make sure the rest of the settings in RL are all right. If other games work, then I can assume yes. If you set the rompath to ./Daphne/framefile/ and named the txt "cobraab" it should show up green... period. That doesn't mean it will work, but one thing at a time.
Skeeball_Fanatic Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Yeah, all the other games run great and are green in RL. One thing that I haven't done is direct any of them to a txt file in \framefile. I was going to do that but I just pointed them at \vldp (where the.txt files were originally) and the games just worked so I didn't mess about with them.
Spawk Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 ok, same thing applies, if the path is set to /vldp/ and the extention to txt, then any file named cobraab.txt in that directory would cause RL to show green. Green has nothing to do with actually loading, just means RL found a correctly named file with the right extension. There is no cobra.txt file in the /Cobra Command/ directory to rename? Where is the one you renamed located?
Spawk Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I have RL pointing to a separate /framefile/ folder for a reason. It might not like the subfolders in the /vldp/ directory. I'm surprised you got any of them to launch like that. And I know I had to... at least with couple (one of the dragon's lair's for sure) go into global settings for the module, and tell RL all the CLI stuff. Some games may run fine with the defaults of the program. Some will require specific parameters. The framefiles themselves don't pass command line arguments so this has to be done inside RL. Did you do any of that? If not, this is what I suggest: Point RomPath in RL to .\Daphne\framefile\ Copy (don't move) all framefile txt's into that directory if they don't already exist. Make any spelling corrections so they all turn up green in RL. Run each game through RL not DaphneLoader! If one fails to load I will help you from there.
Skeeball_Fanatic Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Spawk, I figured it out - thanks to you. The problem wasn't anything that you said, but your talk of renaming things git me thinking. What if it isn't the txt file but the folder that is not named correctly. And guess what? Those three folders didn't need me to rename just the txt files, but the folders themselves also. I feel a bit stupid. It was right there in front of me all along! Thanks so much for your help. Though it wasn't technically your suggestions that gave me the answer, it was your suggestions that made me think of it. Cheers mate.
