hyperspidey Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Created a theme in hypertheme, the animations show in hypertheme but nothing is animating in hyperspin. Am I missing a step? The xml looks fine, I think... All the graphics are in their place, but no start or rest animations.
Avar Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Can you upload a copy here and I'll check it out? Probably easiest way to diagnose.
hyperspidey Posted March 6, 2016 Author Posted March 6, 2016 Wanna just see the xml? Is that where the problem likely is?
Avar Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Sure, I can just copy it into one of existing themes as well to know exactly what you're seeing.
hyperspidey Posted March 6, 2016 Author Posted March 6, 2016 I uploaded it, its a Jukebox main menu theme https://www.hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/11354-%7B%3F%7D/
hyperspidey Posted March 6, 2016 Author Posted March 6, 2016 actually, that's a really simple version of it. That one should just have the 'Jukebox' logo pulsing, but it isn't. My previous version, which wasn't working either, had start animations, music, and falling music notes.
hyperspidey Posted March 6, 2016 Author Posted March 6, 2016 I got it! Animations were disabled in my settings! Wow, hyperspin looks way cooler now LOL
Avar Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I got it! Animations were disabled in my settings! Wow, hyperspin looks way cooler now LOL Haha that makes sense Glad that's working.
hyperspidey Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 Now to figure out why the background music isnt playing..
hyperspidey Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 Just using the background music option in Hypertheme. Its putting the file in the 'extras/background sounds/' folder in the theme. I don't see anything in the xml that references it though. But, I'm not sure if that's necessary?
Avar Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Those need to be manually placed into the Background Music folder by the user, but that only applies to System Menus. I think the easiest way to achieve your goal would be to include the audio as a video mp4. This would also address the issue of attract mode timing, if that was a concern. The video itself need only consist the audio track.
hyperspidey Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 What folder is that, specifically? The sound is currently in: hyperspin/media/main menu/themes/jukebox.zip/extras/background sounds/
Avar Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 If you send me the sound file I'll fix it all up for you and send it back.
hyperspidey Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 I think I'm just going to do this as a video file. If you don't include the 'video' and overlay in the theme, will it play invisible?
Avar Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 That's what I mean. Best solution imo. No, the video has to be included but there are two ways you can drag the video off-screen in HyperTheme so it's not visible. The sound will still play but you won't see the video.
hyperspidey Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 Roger that, thanks for your help sir! Much appreciated!
Avar Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 No problem, lemme know if that gives you any trouble. It's the same thing we do for HyperSpin Cinematic dummy videos if we want to trigger attract mode right now.
hyperspidey Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 I actually didn't need to make the video part and move it offscreen. Just having the mp4 in the video folder I can hear it play, and no video is shown. Perfect! Thanks again! These themes are fun to make! This was just a practice one: )
