Video Path

i´m using the option "alternate videos folder"

when syncing, i get the error "specified video path not found for [%system name%]" (e.g. for aae)

i noticed a wrong description under "Please Note:" -> "%HyperSpin Root%\Databases\%System Name%\%System Name%.ini"

although my %System Name%.ini is in definded and in the correct place -> "%HyperSpin Root%\Settings\%System Name%\%System Name%.ini"

i tried also the wrong folder (Databases), but it doesn´t work

if i sync all media into the hyperspin folder, it would work, but on my internal drive is not enough space, so i need to sync everything to a network drive.

thanks for help

i tested it with one system "AAE" - it doesn´t change anything

game videos are working in hyperspin, but hyper sync has problems with the path

after playing around with some settings i recognized that the network drive is the problem

it works if i use a local drive, but fails if i use a mapped drive

would be nice, if this could be fixed

I use a mapped network drive for my video paths until last week. Never had a problem as long as the drive was connected first.

Might try wiping your %appdata%\roaming\hypersync folder and setting things up again (backup first) or at least fishing around the ini files there.

I never used calls for my video folder though, I used direct named paths and it worked.

Try typing it out completely in hyperhq and seeing if it works in hypersync?

cleared %appdata%\roaming\hypersync folder and setuped one system (aae) -> doesn´t find alternate video folder

i tried also full network path instead of a drive letter -> didn´t work also (i´m not able to test this with my nas at the moment, but i did try it yesterday - at this time i didn´t wipe the %appdata% ... folder - but this is a small hope)

it also doesn´t work if i use a local mapped drive instead of a network drive

what do you mean with "use a mapped drive until last week" -> do you use mapped drives NOW? does it work?

which windows version do you use?

i use windows 7 sp1, all updates

I have win7 x64 sp1. I used mapped drives flawlessly until last week but stopped only because I picked up some 4tb hard drives to make iso extraction faster on big games. I run mixed mode right now and just hefted the large files with long load times locally. I didn't stop for any faults. Moving to RL did not change anything, I had it setup for hl1/2/now 3.

Originally G:\ was mapped to \\server\emulation\ but is now a physical drive. My smb share comes not from a nas but another windows 7 pc. Does your nas support an iscsi target? If it does you could get better performance than smb.

I did have a problem with the pc being so fast with the ssd that it booted before network came up and the drive was disconnected. I had to open it once after rebooting but had since created a batch file that is in the startup folder with the commands:

pushd "\\server\emulation\"

popd

This resolved my disconnected drives on startup issue.

If we use AAE for an example then as reference, here is my working AAE settings.ini:

is drive g: a mapped drive, or is it on a local hard disk?

please verify my problem, if you map another letter e.g. h: to g: and then change your video-path to h:

i don´t need better performance - i would prefer a fix which brings back the functionallity like it was before

the problem started since i updated to a hypersync version with the "loader" program.

i think it´s not a problem of my configuration, hopefully it´s a little bit code which can be corrected.

Same problem here. I've tryed to use maped drive (z:/Videos/) and this message appears:

Video path error: Could not find specific video path for XXX
XXX = System name.

Z: unit can be accessed from windows explorer.

Thanks.

You can use a symbolic link via the windows shell without the need of another program. Simply run the cmd.exe as administrator and then enter: mklink /D "A" "B" where A points at B.

For example:

mklink /D "C:\Hyperspin\Media" "D:\hereismy\media"

Of course you have to enter the correct folders ;)
