Hyperspin loses focus on startup help plz...

Hello fellow hyperspinners, I had to redo my hyperspin cabinet due a bad hard drive. I took the time to "mint" my rom sets so it was not a complete wasted of time to redo everything. However I am now experiencing a problem. I set hyperspin to start automatically when windows(7 64bit) starts and hyperspin keeps losing windows focus. I have narrowed it down to my Steam client stealing focus. I have had hyperspin running and booting with no problems for months and this time I installed some PC games through my steam account, now I got the focus problem. anyone know what to do???

EDIT: I have tried everything I can think of, still not working. I have tried to delay the start of steam by 20 seconds after hyperspin is up, and as soon as steam loads hyperspin loses focus. It does not matter if I set a delay of 5 min, hyperspin still freezes when steam loads. I have also tried to disable the steam client and use steam offline mode, nothing works(games wont load). I hate to say it because it sounds dumb but I may have to download warez versions of my games just so I can run them without steam loading. I would like to know how other people are dealing with this problem. anybody??

I had to uninstall steam to fix the problem. Seems that hyperspin and steam do not play well together, or at least don't boot well together.

I have a similar problem, and I do have teamviewer installed. If I try to shell Hyperspin with InstantSheller, HS loses focus. If I just have HS in the startup folder, everything works fine, though windows isn't quite as hidden. Is there a way to have teamviewer and still have HS shelled. When I used MaLa it worked fine shelled with teamviewer.

If your windows taskbar is set to autohide uncheck it.

I didn't have any of those set to true. I disabled teamviewer from starting at startup, and everything works as expected so Teamviewer is definitely the problem. Curious if theres anything I can do to get focus back to HS. Can you shell a AHK script that would launch HS, wait a little, and then try to get focus? Teamviewer isn't essential, but its helpful for maintenance of the cab.

Sorry to open an old thread, but I was having similar problems with TeamViewer and HyperSpin losing focus. I figured others could benefit from my solution.

I had HS running as the shell and it would "freeze" a few seconds after starting. TeamViewer is setup for "unattended access" as it makes it easy to manage PCs that do not have a mouse and keyboard always connected (I do this with my HTPCs too). I stumbled across this thread and sure enough, if I disabled TeamViewer HS did not freeze.

I have had some "focus" issues on my HTPC's and was able to solve them with EventGhost. I applied the same concept here and it worked.

I was able to use EventGhost to launch HS, wait 5 seconds and then bring HS to focus. I then set EventGhost as the shell and I still have the same "Non-Windows" Arcade PC that boots straight into HS!
