Mr1switH Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Greetings friends, got a bit of a weird one here.. For starters, I had a working cab on an older PC running MAME through HyperSpin. I upgraded the PC and got everything re-loaded and I tested MAME off and on and it was working at one point (I say one point because I have done a lot of work and don't recall at which 'point' it was working) although it is not now. I previously had an ASUS 8800GT installed but swapped that out to an EVGA 6200 today and it is no longer working and for clarity, I do get display but the roms do not display / load. When I fire up HyperSpin, it launches successfully, loads the wheel and I can view artwork / video of the game I have selected although when I hit 'Enter' it seems like it attempts to load; however, it doesn't do anything. The audio on the video preview cuts out when I hit 'Enter' as if it is trying to load but the game doesn't load and then the audio will return after a few seconds. I am running it without using HyperLaunch, just normal through HyperSpin. When I checked the log file, it states that the game loads but it most certainly does not. The PC I am using is running Windows 7 and I have turned off UAC too. I also read that mapping Q / S keys to joys can cause HyperSpin to kill the process, so those keys are also not mapped either. Additionally, I have tried running HyperSpin in different compatibility modes to no avail either. I also did try alt-tabbing to ensure that i'm not losing focus to another program and there is nothing else running. Been searching for a looooong time but the suggestions i've found are not working. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks a ton! Edit: For clarity.
AYOOOB Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 what do you mean about running it on hyperspin not hyperlaunch , did you enable hyperlaunch in hyperHQ for mame ?
pofo14 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 It's been a while since I use the latest version of hyperlaunch. II also will assume Mame runs fine outside of HyperSpin. I would try taking the command from hyper hq and running it from a command prompt. That is essentially what HS will be doing. That will just verify the command is structured properly, and may give you a better idea on the potential issue. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
AYOOOB Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 if you set the Execution in HyperHQ to Hyperlaunch and Disable "PC Game" it will work fine (Try To Use The Latest HyperLaunch )
kweller Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I know this thread is old, but I came across this issue and wanted to add my 2 cents. If you are in the wheel of a system and Hyperlaunch does not run the game (e.g. Just sits there) you may want to check and see if the configured emulator is currently running. For example I am starting out and I am in the process of setting up the NES section. I tried to run a game within Hyperspin that I had just added and it would not work. Come to find out the emulator "Jnes.exe" was still running from a prior test I ran. Once I terminated the Jnes service I was able to run the game within Hyperspin.
