Any way to make sure my key bindings dont change on a system reboot? multiple USB devices

I run two keyboard controllers for a 4player setup and sometimes my devices boot in a different order making controller 1 now controller 2 and it messes up all my MAME bindings.  Is there anyway to fix this? or a workaround?

you could try this link but I haven't used it myself or maybe try a direct input version of mame

wow.... this sounds like EXACTLY what I need... I didn't know this existed...
