Just bought an xarcade stick with the trackball, thinking it'd be fun to play golden tee again... and then I realized I have no clue what I'm doing or how.

 

So you'll probably see me reading a lot of forums.

Tankstick finally arrived.

 

I've had a LOT of help from a member here and also he helped me set up GIGA version. 

 

Still working through media, syncing (HB loads a splash screen for ever), speeds (some games run WAY too fast, others way too slow on the same emu), and I got myself a 17x4 HD (touch, but don't want that feature) display for a marquee--- now I need to figure out how to get win to fill the display so I can use it as a marquee.

Lots of work to this hobby, but I'm liking it a lot.  The wife?  Not as much.  But still, it keeps me out of her hair.

If by HB you mean HyperBase Live, you shouldn't be using that to sync media to your main setup. It's still in beta and the databases it's syncing against are old. Until it comes out of beta and the databases its syncing against get updated you should be using HyperSync instead and manually grabbing stuff when needed.

Yeah, no worries about syncing with HyperBase as I said- it won't even load. 

 

On a positive note, I got the marquee display to work in windows- I was able to set a custom display size of 1280x704.  Now to find appropriately scaled graphics for a marquee..

 

Still mucking with the tankstick too- loaded HyperSpin, selected a console then proceeded to mash every button on the thing to try to get a game to load.  Looks like I have some setup to do. 

 

Using the ftp to bulk download media right now - that will help with my sudden 'malformed database' issue I have too.

 

All in all, just teeny little victories today, it seems.
