Retroarch close error when trying to launch psx games

Hey all. I have retroarch being awesome for other consoles but Psx is giving me grief. I followed the Austin guide for playstation but get a retroarch closing error and eventually a RL timed out error. I did some reading of the module for retroarch and couldnt pick it. Some googling had me looking at the Psx bios to make sure they were in the system files. I have these in there: Dtlh3000.bin, Dtlh3002.bin, SCPH101.BIN, SCPH1001.BIN, SCPH5000.BIN, SCPH5500.BIN, Scph5502.bin, Scph7000.bin, SCPH7001.BIN, SCPH1001.BIN, Scph7003.bin, scph7502.bin. Are capitals an issue at all? Caps seem to be all over the place.

Cheers

make sure your psx files are in a format your core will work with also make sure your cue file is structured right.

Thanks for the response Kyle. My psx files are 7z compressed bin and cues. all bin cues there and named properly. So I'm not sure what the issue is.

I think you have to extract a game to test it in retroarch on it's own but rocketlaunch can extract it for you if you have it set up like agent 47 mentioned

The number 1 thing that causes this issue that I've seen is the bin name inside the cue file doesn't match the actual bin filename. This may have been covered in the video kyle posted, but open your cue file in your text editor or notepad and make sure the bin filename in there matches the name of the bin file in your 7z. Make sure you have 7z enabled in RLUI also.

As always, make sure that you're able to launch the game directly through RetroArch before adding it to RL or HS. If it doesn't run through the emulator directly, it won't work in RL/HS. it's a lot easier to narrow down the cause if you run it through the emulator first.

Thanks 47. I did follow that youtube guide and double checked that my cue files are named correctly in notepad+ when referring to the bin files. Doing the isolation I get the same error when trying to load directly from retroarch. I read the wiki for the retroarch mednafen and I have the correct bios files named correctly. Stumped.

try extracting one of your games so you just have the bin and cue file to  test out then set rocketlauncher up to enable 7z

Thanks Kyle. I did that and got the same error so it must be a retroarch issue...

Thanks again Kyle and 47. Not wanting to sound like a quitter but I have given up on retroarch and have ePSXe working.

why quit on it bios you need in austins retroarch download and rest is self explaintory the bios goes in retroarch\system folder and theres cue tools on downloads
