Disable Windows Shortcut keys

Hi,

 

I am new to Hyperspin and Mame gaming. I have come a long way and have a basic setup working with mame roms.

The problem I'm having is that when I'm playing and me and player 2 are hitting all our buttons at once frantically, some keyboard shortcuts seem to come into to play.

 

Eg, mid fight the game lost focus and went to hyperspin asking to confirm exit.

Or mid game, a volume bar came up and when I moved my joystick left or right it increases or decreased the volume bar (It looked like a mame volume bar?)

 

I want to disable windows short cuts eg. Ctr + Alt + ?

 

I am using an ultimarc ipac controler

Not sure where you can disable Windows shortcuts from.

But if you're hitting buttons assigned to other things you should re-program your iPac not to use those buttons, then change your control settings to match in your emulators.

Or alternatively you could change the controls for those other things. If mid fight it went to HyperSpin and asked to exit then you have some conflicts with either HS, RL or both.

I'd say don't program the CTRL or ALT keys as buttons. LSHIFT and RSHIFT seem to be ok for me (and I only use those because some PC games seem to need them), but the rest of your buttons should be simple letters.

If you know what keys are being pressed you can use Autohotkey to disable them like this - http://lifehacker.com/disable-disruptive-hotkeys-while-gaming-with-this-scrip-1626902738
