I an having trouble getting retroarch to run.  when I run it I get the following error:

RetroArch [ERROR] :: gfx_ctx_init :: Failed to bind API (0, version 0.0) on context driver "d3d"

I originally had windows 7 and it didn't work on that, I upgraded to 10 and still same error.  I've been searching the internet for a few weeks and have not really found an answer,  any idea where I should start?

Try and add more info if you can.

What system are you trying to run?

Are you using Rocket Launcher

What file type are your rom files etc.

If your trying to run SNES games that are 7z it will throw that error.

If you can't get Retroarch working outside of Hyperspin then your maybe asking in the wrong forum but i am sure someone here can help.

Can't even get retroarch to open in windows. Running hyperspin and rocketlauncher. When I open retro in command line that's where I get the error. I also get windows error that says retroarch.exe has stopped working. Trying to run the 7z's thru hyper and retro runs quite a few of my systems. NES and snes being 2 of them. I've looked online and the closest fix that I've found is somebody that finally got it running after his 4th windows reformat...

I'm having a similar issue, but with Windows 8.1. I had Windows 7 Ultimate installed before and it worked fine. However when I installed 8.1 I get the error that it was missing the dxd_43.dll.

So I downloaded and installed the directX 2010 redistributable from Microsoft and installed it. Now I get an error that says it will contact Microsoft do a possible solution and Retroarch still won't execute.

I did already ask about this in the Retroarch forums, but their go to answer is to send a link to download the directX redistributable 2010. Any ideas here? I'm willing to listen.

EDIT: Nevermind I fixed it. I had to use Visual Studio C++ and creaet a fix for the clib.dll that came with Retroarch.
