(blush) I do think the WHDLoad Kickstart files are different, I just think you had a bad set, or something like that. My set is from Amiga Forever. Paid for and owned. Sometimes you need to support the devs. Thanks, Ron

rfancella Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 Noob question, where do I get the winuae module from please? The ahk files available for Amiga say fs-uae & whdload, no winuae Pete, Are you saying if you launch HyperLaunchHQ, click on GLOBAL on the top left and select Modules on top, there is no WinUAE.ahk in the list? How about if you click on Emulators? Is there a WinUAE there? In the first case, you probably need to update HyperLaunch and all the modules. You can either do a one time update or install GIT and update often. Here is a thread describing both: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?31472-Complete-Guide-for-Commodore-Amiga-in-HS-and-RL-Using-WinUAE-Only&p=304130&viewfull=1#post304130 If you have a WinUAE module, but do not have a WinUAE emulator in HyperLaunchHQ. You probably just need to add the entry in your Global Emulators.ini file. Instructions are here: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?31472-Complete-Guide-for-Commodore-Amiga-in-HS-and-RL-Using-WinUAE-Only&p=305212&viewfull=1#post305212 Hope this helps! goldeneye777 Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Hello friends and sorry for my english. I followed rfancella super tuto (great help for newbies like me) and all is ok. In hyperlaunch HQ ,scan my WDH games and launchs and works ok. The question is , is there any way for play with filters, in my LCD the graphics see very pixelated. If i enter in winuae change resolution, filters, key, ect. Save configuration, but when i launch the game via hyperlaunch or hyperspin the game runs in 800x600 resolution mode and without filters. Is there a ini file , xml or any that i must change ? Thanks

The first thing you would need to do, Launch WinUAE (outside of HyperSpin and HyperLaunchHQ). Click on Configurations on the top left. Down at the bottom find the button that says Load From... Navigate to your Host directory and load your amigahost.uae file. Then make the changes you need to make. Resolution, filters, controller mapping, etc... When done, click back on Configurations on the top left. Now, click the button that says Save As... Navigate to Host and double click on amigahost.uae. It should ask if you want to overwrite the file. Tell it yes and test. Thanks, Ron

joncrytom Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Hi Ron, Hoping you can help me out again. I'm onto Amiga now, and followed your guide step by step twice over. When I execute the games either via HLHQ or HS I see WinUAE load and the banner for the game and right after just like any game, black and white bars across the screen, flashing and seems to be rebooting. Any Ideas my friend? Thanks in advance. Jonathan

Any Ideas my friend? Thanks in advance. Jonathan Jonathan, I have heard of other users having simular issues. Most of the time it's due to either a bad WHDLoad key or bad boot/os roms. Can you post your WinUAE log files (using code tags, as always)? As a default both logs are not enabled in WinUAE, so here is how to enable the winuaelog.txt: Launch WinUAE (outside HyperSpin and HyperLaunchHQ). Click on Configurations on the top left. Hit the Load From.... button on the bottom. Double click on Host and load your amigahost.uae file. Now, click on Miscellaneous on the left. Check the box next to Create winuaelog.txt log: Now to save the config. Click on Configurations on the top left again. Hit the Save As... button on the bottom. Double Click on the Host directory and again, double click on your amigahost.uae file. When asked to overwrite, click Yes. Now, hit the Quit button on the bottom left. Launch a game through HyperLaunchHQ or HyperSpin and post the contents of your winuaebootlog.txt and winuaelog.txt files here. Thank you, Ron

rfancella Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 Thanks for your help again Ron, Jonathan, Good news and bad... The good: Both your log files look good. The bad: As I suspected, it is your WHDLoad.key file. I replaced my legal purchased key file with one found on the "InnerWebs" and I get the exact same results that you do. I put my key file back and the game boots fine. Thanks, Ron PS: If anyone wants to purchase a keyfile, see the WHDLoad page and click Registration on the top: http://whdload.de/

I'm buying a key this evening. I'm assuming its affordable. Thanks Ron!

Support the devs by buying the software. Thanks, Ron
..1 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Thanks Ron for the awesome guide however I'm stuck at a final step. When I try to launch a game via Hyperlaunch, WinUAE loads, but is doesn't go into the game. It brings up a intermediate screen with 2 eyes on it and a red triangle mouse pointer. Is this any indication where my system is hanging. FYI. Im waiting for my WHDload.key file to be emailed. could this be the cause? And Thank you so much for the work you guys have put in. There is nothing like loading up an old Amiga game to bring back memories.

..1 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Sorry to be a pain. Games still not loading (hangs on Amiga insert disk screen). Is there any way to confirm my WHDLoad part of the install works out side of Hyperlaunch? I cant seem to get a WHDLoad game to work even direct from WinUAE. Should I be able to? Nathan
rfancella Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 Sorry to be a pain. Games still not loading (hangs on Amiga insert disk screen). Is there any way to confirm my WHDLoad part of the install works out side of Hyperlaunch? I cant seem to get a WHDLoad game to work even direct from WinUAE. Should I be able to? Nathan Getting it to work outside HyperLaunch is tough. You can do so through command line. But it is tricky for sure. Here is the command line that works with mine: H:\HyperSpin\Emulators\WinUAE\winuae.exe -f "H:\HyperSpin\Emulators\WinUAE\Configurations\host\amigahost.uae" -s quickstart=a1200,1 -s use_gui=no -s gfx_fullscreen_amiga=true -s cycle_exact=true -s immediate_blits=false -s cpu_compatible=false -s cpu_speed=real -s cachesize=8192 -s filesystem=rw,WHD:"H:\HyperSpin\Emulators\WinUAE\WHD" -s filesystem=ro,Games:"H:\Roms\Commodore Amiga\BigNoseTheCaveman_v1.0.zip" -portable You should be able to replace the paths in this and the game should launch. If not, maybe it's a bad rom. Are your WHDLoad install from KillerGorilla? Thanks, Ron
yashijoe Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 NOTE: As quoted by vindic8r here: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?31472-Complete-Guide-for-Commodore-Amiga-in-HS-and-RL-Using-WinUAE-Only&p=305000&viewfull=1#post305000 First: THANKS! I was close to give up with WinUAE then I found your outstanding guide. But it is still a mess for me how to configure keys. I got an arcade cab with I-PAC and keys as below: Joy up --> up arrow Joy down --> down arrow Joy left --> left arrow Joy right --> right arrow B1 --> Z B2 --> X B3 --> C B4 --> V B5 --> B B6 --> N and WinUAE inputs are default configured as in the pic below: But still I cannot change them as I want, I double click on each of them, nothing happens. For example double click on "CRL destra TASTIERA" (control right keyboard) doesn't let me change it. Am I doing something wrong? Am I in the wrong config tab of WinUAE? Maybe there is a way to change them directly editing the ini or uae file? Thanks for help.
..1 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Thanks Ron for the command line, seems to be getting me further. And seems to confirm that WHDload is installed and works via cmd line. When I run through Hyperlaunch I just get the Amiga insert disk boot screen. I have done a bit of digging in to the logs of Hyperlaunch. The following is the command cut from HyperLaunch logs( Very close to the one you supplied). 21:09:49:921 | MD | INFO | +0 | Run - Running: H:\HyperSpin\Emulators\Amiga\WinUAE\winuae.exe -f "H:\HyperSpin\Emulators\Amiga\WinUAE\Configurations\host\amigahost.uae" -s quickstart=a500,1 -s use_gui=no -s gfx_fullscreen_amiga=true -s floppy_speed=turbo -s floppy0="H:\HyperSpin\Emulators\Amiga\Games-WHDLoad\3DPool_v1.2_0621.zip" -portable Doesn't seem to include Path to WHD folder, Is that normal Nathan

Look back at the guide and go to the heading "Setup HyperHQ" and look down to the sixth screen shot. That is where you setup your path. Also, double check and make sure your WinUAE module is at least version 2.0.2. If it still doesn't work, post your entire HyperLaunch.log file, using the code tags... Thanks, Ron

Hit the button at the bottom of that screen that says "Delete All" and then hit the "Remap" button. Thanks, Ron
..1 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Thanks Ron your help is much appreciated. I have it All working now. Your final comment about checking my version tied it all up. actually It was a couple of issues. First off I had installed the latest version of WinUAE 2.7.0. As soon as I changed the .exe over to the older 2.6.0 WinUAE.exe It no longer hung at the Amiga disk insert screen. Also, games still didn't load but that was fixed by using roms that were not Zipped lha files. Whats the deal with lha files? I have a "full HyperSpin Ready set" which I thought was meant to be specifically for WHDload. Regards Nathan

The lha is the native Amiga archive format. And these installs are actually meant and designed to run on actual Amiga computers. Anyway, glad its working now! Thanks, Ron
..1 Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Sweet!! Glad it's all sorted out!Hmmm... Right! I am using 2.6.1 without issues. I havent tried 2.6.1 I was having trouble with WinUAE 2.7.0, when that was installed it was hanging on the amiga screen. I backdated to 2.6.0 and now don't seem to be having any issues. I did see 2.6.1 as a download option but while all my troubles were happening I went straight to 2.6.0 seeing as it was mentioned Emu version in the WinUAE.AHK. (I will update to 2.6.1 tonight). Were you aware of there being trouble with 2.7.0. version (It might be something I was doing wrong). However If I swap back to the 2.7.0 exe my problems resurface.
