stevan5150 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 New member here...Ok....one year ago I ordered an arcade pedestal from dream home arcades. The insides sucked, the build was gorgeous though. I contacted upchurch which i know everyone here doesn't care too much for , i sent him the gear he told me i needed to buy to make a more powerful Pc for the pedestal. He loaded everything i needed on it as you all know how he does for his normal builds. Well I can't really depend on him and he seemed annoyed with me lol cause i asked questions. Well the machine works fine, but I really really really want to learn how to do it all myself from here on out due to some things i am wanting to tweak. I am here for the long haul guys, i am sorry i didn't just do it all myself to begin with, it just seemed so over whelming. And it still does to some point. But all in all i want to learn everything i can about this thing so i can trouble shoot and mod things on it myself and update things. Where should i start here on the forum to get going with the knowledge of it all. Thanks in advance I want to start out with a simple question, I have one xbox 360 controller working with a dongle, but i cant get a second to work. Do i need a second dongle? Here is a pic of my set up. http://
Metalzoic Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Took me a minute to figure out what I'm looking at... So is that TV mounted on the wall, and what looks like marquee wings is framed pictures hung beside it with a shelf above the screen? At first I thought it was a cabinet that opened up those marquees like doors or something. Is that a Delorean logo lit up under your CP? As for where to start... Impossible to say. I guess start by figuring out the basics and what programs your build is using, which versions (MAME? MAMEUIFX? What version? Do your roms match that version? HyperLaunch or RocketLauncher? Udated or old? etc...) and how it is all structured. Then at least you'll know what you're dealing with and what it is you even need to ask for help on. I'll warn you that it will probably be quite a bit more work to reverse engineer/learn what you have than it would have been to do it yourself from scratch.
stevan5150 Posted July 27, 2016 Author Posted July 27, 2016 Yeah the main system is a arcade box modeled after a Delorean that sits on a pedestal from rec room masters. Well honestly the whole system does work 99% flawless. Getting two 360 controllers is one of my biggest issues. But if anything on the system starts messing up I want to be able to trouble shoot it. The only games that have issues running are sega Saturn . Every mame and other consoles work excellent. I have hyper launch and rocket launcher on here. Here are shots of the hardware on the inside and of the setup that aren't as dark. Would it help if I did a video showing how he has it set up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Metalzoic Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 If it mostly works great then that's good, but there's no reason to see the hardware. You'll need to check the things I already mentioned earlier -If you have HyperLauncher and Rocketlauncher on there (which is weird), find out which it's using, what version. Hope that it's not old and needs to be updated. -If it's Saturn games you need to fix then figure out what emulator, what version, what roms and what databse your have and/or need. Update/replace if necessary. -Get it all working outside of HyperSpin/RocketLauncher first. -Learn to setup your iPac using Winipac (probably buried on your hdd somewhere), you may need to learn some keymappers and/or AHK to get Saturn controlling right (maybe not... I don't use Saturn anything) -Once it all works how you want, then you can finally get it all set it up in RocketLauncher/HyperSpin. Rinse and repeat for any other systems.
Guest rynoman03 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Wow this is exactly the type of setup I want to build. Thanks for sharing.
Guest rynoman03 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Could you share the specs of your pc and the model of the pedestal you bought?
Metalzoic Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Could you share the specs of your pc and the model of the pedestal you bought? I'm guessing he's long gone. Only posted twice and never responded to my last post to him.
