Canr get mame git to load tbru hyperspin on different shield tv

I setup up a friends shield to run hyperspin and it runs mame git thru retroarch but nut thru hyperspin. It works on my shield but not the other one. All other systems work on this shield. I'm confused please help

I'm assuming hyperspin is an exact copy on both and retroarch works so only thing I can see is something with the rom path

yes it was the bios directory. I didn't exit and save
