Hyperspin slow to launch PS2

Hey everyone I am in the process of setting up my PS2 wheel.  I have PCSX2.0 1.4.0 which runs fine stand alone.  I noticed that when launching the games through RL or HS the emulator takes several mins to load the game.  Approx 3-5 mins.  Once it finally loads the game the controller pad doesn't work neither.  If i open the emulator stand alone everything runs fine including the boot time and the controller.  Anybody with suggestions?  Thanks

Thanks.  I realized after looking at the log it was extracting the .7z version of the game.  I have the .ISO in the same directory but I guess it was defaulting to the .7z file.  Is it recommended to leave the .7z archives and just temp the files every time or should i use .gz format?  Does it do the same for .gz format?  meaning the load times?  Thanks.

On the long run, you end up needing more space.

 

I prefer leaving the roms on .7z. This happened to me and now my 5tb HDD is full. If I didn't have the majority of the PS2 collection on .7z, I would have had to get another hdd by this time. The 7z made a big difference.
