lcsgeek Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Looking for pointers on how to configure a track ball on a mame emulator. I think the version I'm using is 1.53 - this game emulator business is very new to me. I've found the location to configure the iPAC keyboard emulator that I have but don't know where to begin on the trackball. The trackball is working outside hyperSpin in Windows...moves mouse pointer. Thanks in advance -d

Thanks in advance -d First i would recommend you to use the latest version of MAME 0.178 and download ROMs for that version. If don't know where to find it juste send me PM. Then to configure trackball and/or spinner: I just configured my Trackball and spinner with the following steps (With brand new mame): 1 Downloaded MAME and execute it (from command line) with -cc: mame64.exe -cc (This creates mame.ini config) 2 Edited mame.ini and changed: mouse 1 multimouse. 1 dial device. mouse trackball device mouse 3 Run Arkanoid game (which uses spinner) and entered config (TAB) > Input General > Player 1 Controls > Dial Analog > Press Enter and move spinner left to right and should appear something like "Mouse 6X" 4 Run World Class Bowling game (which uses trackball) and entered config (TAB) > Input General > Player 1 Controls > Track X Analog > Press Enter and move Trackballleft to right and should appear something like "Mouse 7X". Then go to Track Y Analog > Press Enter and move Trackball up to down and should appear something like "Mouse 7Y". And that's it!
lcsgeek Posted October 8, 2016 Author Posted October 8, 2016 Excellent info. Thanks so much to both of you.
