bigmike2238 Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Hello, This is my first time trying to setup a frontend for emulation, I have followed the tutorials, and have Hyperspin setup and working properly, except for keymapping. I am able to get Xpadder working for the frontend, but when an emulator is launched, Hyperspin's mappings remain in place. So, is there a way to use an emulator's default controller settings when Hyperspin hands off control? And on a side note, this software is amazing Thanks to all that reply, Mike
kylecp1979 Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 You have to setup profiles in rocketlauncher for whatever system you want to use xpadder with. You have to enable xpadder in the Rocketlauncher settings under global>general settings>third party>keymapper then set your path to xpadder and enable RL profiles. Have your global setting set to true and keymapper set to xpadder global>settings>mapping>keymapper>true and keymapper to xpadder Then pick your system and make sure you have keymapper set to true for that system pick a system>settings>mapping>keymapper>enable to true Go to keymapper tab and set up your profile for that system you can test the settings in the bottom section. Me personally I find it easier to set the controls in the emulator it's self. Less maintenance and I feel it runs a little smoother this way too. I only use xpadder when I have too. If you use mame, retroarch or mess you can setup over half your systems with a combination of all 3 emulators and only have to set controls once for each and the emulator will map controls for you.
bigmike2238 Posted October 11, 2016 Author Posted October 11, 2016 Hi Hyper, Thank you for your reply, I have a followup question. Is there a way to map the controls of the front-end to a joystick without using a key mapper? The problem is, once the profile is loaded is Xpadder, all the keybindings from the front-end carry over. In other words, once I am in the emulator, xpadder is still in control. So, if I hit the A button on my joystick, it registers as the assigned keystroke instead of just A. Mike
