Hyperspin newbie experiencing weird problems, this is also xtenstion controller related.

I'll give a short back story so you know what I'm up against and then I'll ask my questions. I recently purchased a preloaded hard drive that has hyperspin v. 1.2.0.0, hyperhq, 88 emulators and many many games preinstalled. I'm in the process of creating a home arcade cabinet build with a xtension "emulator" controller. I'm running this all on a windows 7 OS. Hyperspin loads fine but now I've run into some issues.

1. for some reason, although the controller was working fine for a little now it seems that none of the buttons function except for exit which is linked to ESC. the joy sticks scroll through the systems but when I hit the player one button (linked to 1) or the player 2 button (linked to 2) instead of loading a system it just jumps back to the very first system as if it is resetting. I've attempted to reassign all of my buttons with hyperHQ and JoytoKey, but seems to have not fixed anything. at the same time, none of the same buttons on my standard keyboard are doing anything either. I have not downloaded or used rocketlauncher (as I cannot for the life of me figure out what it's for). I really need some help with this one. (side note: when I'm in hyperhq and joytokey if I press my button 3 (linked to space bar) a dropdown menu pops up. I'm guessing I've got my hotkeys on and have no idea how to turn them off.)

2. if you guys can walk me through fixing my last problem, I'd like to eventually set this up to run hyperspin when I turn on my computer without going to windows first. I've heard this is possible but I feel lost on how to set this up. I'm aiming for ESC to take me out of a game and back to the most recent wheel. currently all ESC does is close hyperspin.

Like I said, I'm a newbie and am completely lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And I'm guessing I will probably have other questions in the future.

Your name seems appropriate here.

Our advice is to contact the seller as those drives are not supported here and you may have been ripped off. Alternatively you can keep the art work and Roms and start from scratch.

There is a 60 system build in the platinum members download section if you want to try that but it does not include any Roms or bios files and does require some set up on your part.

Sadly this hobby is not really plug n play.
