Hello fellas,

I pretty much have my setup complete. Hyperspin and RL work in harmony, and I can play mame, nintendo and super nintendo. I did not want to add more games to keep it simple, as it is mame has over 8000 games. The other day I was showing off my arcade and started playing mame with my fiend and noticed when he pressed some button sequence it would open configuration in mame, then another button sequence and mame volume would appear. Issue only happens when player 2 presses some button sequence. What suggestions you guys have to disable mame config while playng? has anyone experience the same issue? I don't have HS start up script nor joytokey. Are they needed? Thanks guys

I don't know what the button sequence is, but it sounds like you might simply need to change what you have your keys/butons set to.

If your using any ctrl, alt or non alpha-numeric keys - dont. I learned that the hard way years ago. And turning off sticky keys/windows keys helps.

well the mame configuration menu is opened by the TAB key... so obviously the tab key is being mapped by something. On my setup I have one of the buttons mapped to the tab key because I want to be able to enter the mame configuration menu so I can easily change settings like using bezels or not or even choosing other video options or changing in game settings like number of lives, etc. If you didn't put the setup together maybe the person mapped the TAB button for that purpose?

Thanks guys, so now I have better understanding on my issue. What I did is open notepad and press each button and joystick to write down what letters or numbers are assigned to each button. Then I open MAME config and re map buttons and joysticks, and assigned another letter to features I'm no using. After I did all of that, MAME works as it should, thanks guys for the guidance. Now I need to the same for Retroarch and PC games.
