MAME softlists help needed

So MAME softlists have been a hook up in Hyperspin Android. Well since forever...

Any MAME or RetroArch experts please read.

I have sorted launching the roms from anywhere you want which there is limited guidance on unless you really understand how MAME works which I still don't really.

The next biggest problem with how we currently set things up is that all roms and media have to be named as per softlists xml's. (Thank god for Phulshoff and his xml's)

The only way to run stuff like Atari 5200 and all those MESS systems is through the port of Retroarch.

My question is does anyone have ANY suggestions for passing MAME/retroarch the right commands to launch games named the same as Hyperspin xml's?

Or setting up MAME ini files some other way to achieve it

How do you do it on PC with command line? (I can only send them via the Hyperspin .ini file rompath or exe/parameter fields, which I'm thinking won't help because of naming media to match)

Is there anyway to easily build softlists off of romsets? So I only have to change one file instead of hundreds of file names.

All suggestions welcome
