I am having another issue,

I cannot figure it out for the life of me.

Most of my mame games work with hyperspin, however one of my favorites "Raiden" doesnt work.

It comes up with loading complete (hyperspin screen) then pauses and gives me an error.

If i load mame.exe and try the game it doesnt work, says missing files

if i load with mameui64 it works

Any ideas? there are a few files like this.

many thanks

james

why do you have two versions of mame

RL can use MAMEUI or MAME.exe, just use one,  the one that works.

and you have to get every emulator working OUTSIDE of Hyperspin before, you add them to your system.

Hyepspin can't load any game if you can't manually load a game into the emulator.

hi 32assassin,

Thanks for the info, so if I delete the mame.exe and use the mameui64 instead it still doesnt seem to work, This time the mame window loads briefly with 100% and then flashes off back to hyperspin loading page and fails with the mame window fault.

just a question but are you sure you're using the romset required for that version of mame? mame is pretty straight forward as emulators go.. the only real thing that jams people up is not having the same romset version as the emulator. you mentioned something about mame giving a error about missing files which normally happens when you're not using the correct romset. I assume your paths are correct.

Hi,

I suppose thats a valid question, i assumed it was correct as other roms work ok.

Is there a way to find out what version of mame my roms set is for?

Many Thanks

With mame you can't go by some roms working as some games haven't been updated since the earliest versions of mame.. for example pac man probably works on every single version of mame while other games have been updated over the years and may not work with older versions of the emulator.

there is probably a tool that can tell you what romset you have?? I normally just download the latest romset whenever I update to the current version of the emulator.

i'm 99% sure you probably don't have the correct romset for the emulator if it said you're missing files.

how did you set mame up originally? Did you just randomly download the roms or found a full romset?

Hi,

I could be wrong, but i think you are missing my point,

I can open the rom in mameui64 and mame.exe, however if I use hyperspin OR rocketlauncher it just crashes back out to windows.

Oh actually, I havent gone into that much detail

many thanks
