tempolivre Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Hi all, this is not a major problem but is boring me a lot. I'm using Dons Hyperspin ROM Renamer with the xml that we can find at HyperSpin\Databases. It worked almost fine with NES, N64, 32x, Genesis and SNES but the roms are not at zip or 7z format anymore, the renamer unzipped all my files after renaming. Am I doing something wrong?
rfancella Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Hi all, this is not a major problem but is boring me a lot. I'm using Dons Hyperspin ROM Renamer with the xml that we can find at HyperSpin\Databases.It worked almost fine with NES, N64, 32x, Genesis and SNES but the roms are not at zip or 7z format anymore, the renamer unzipped all my files after renaming. Am I doing something wrong? There are a couple of versions of the tools. The one I use, will unzip them, rename then and then zip them back up with the correct zip name also. Once you have matched them and hit the Rename Roms button, it give you the option to Copy or Move the roms and if you want them zipped or 7z'ed. But that's all moot at this point? If you have WinRAR installed, the compressing is easy. Select all the files and right click. Choose Add To Archive... In the General tab, select ZIP and click the Files tab. Hit the check box that says Put each file to separate arcive and hit OK. Then just delete the roms and keep the zips. Hope this helps, Ron Code Monkey and all around Command Line geek!If you like what someone has said or done for you, be sure and 'Thank' them. And if they changed your life, send them a Beer!
tempolivre Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 I use 7z and I was searching any option like that, maybe just don't exist. I will winstall the Winrar later.. sorry about my english and ty...
Fromlostdays Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Don's has to unpack the roms because the rom name has to match the archive name has to match the xml. Changing just the archive name will throw errors when you attempt to launch. 7z won't let you zip a bunch of files into their own archives. WinRAR has that capability, but if you want .7z instead of .zip, there is a workaround. Some people said they have written batch files that will allow you to 7z in the way you want to, but you can also do this: -Use winrar to rezip all your roms into .zip format. -Go to this thread and read about Rain's awesome program Drizzlezip, and thank him on the thread* http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?25056-DrizzleZip-1-0-(Folder-Compression-Utility)-Released!&p=239449#post239449 -Go to Downloads / Hyperspin / Third Party Programs and download drizzlezip. -Run it. It has the ability to convert .zip files to 7z. files without changing the name of the archive or its contents. -Joy. Walter:beerglass:
