craig816 Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Hello, Anyone have a clue how to get to the various settings (File, Hardware, Video, etc. on the top bar of Colem)? When I start Colem, it immediately wants me to open a file. When I open a file - it starts emulation immediately. Can't get back to the top menu. When I hit cancel - it looks like it defaults to the BIOS screen and I can't get back to the top menu. I want to tweak the video options so that it does not render a full, stretched screen but I see now way to get to the options bar. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
craig816 Posted December 17, 2016 Author Posted December 17, 2016 Or could someone reccommend another emulator - MESS does not work at all...
Tribe Fan Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Use the newest version of mame. Mess is now built into it. Just make sure you have the bios files in the "roms" directory.

I think I remember giving up on colem when I was setting up colecovision. I used BlueMSX.. which works good in my opinion. Mame can be used and RetroArch as well but blueMSX seems to work for me. I don't know... mame for anything other than arcade games has always seemed a bit off... tho I did use it for Atari 2600 until I moved to RetroArch for A2600 emulation.. the games look way better.
Tribe Fan Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Bluemsx is very good. I used it for a while for coleco emulation. I prefer the convenience of using as few emulators as possible though. I know what you mean about mame being "off" for a lot of systems. I think it handles coleco pretty well though.
