Jockmcd
Hi all , never used or tried hyperspin but getting curious about it could you answer the below for me please: 1. Is it free 2. Can I download a load of roms with the emulators and hyperspin all in 1 download. 3. Can I install it on my Amazon Fire tv box, running the whole lot from a USB inserted to the box ? reznnate
1. The app is free. Access to community developed assets requires membership fees at this site and emumovies. 2. No, and this is why people refer to setup as a 'hobby'. This is the best/worst part of using Hyperspin. 3. No, but you can do this with the Shield TV
Jockmcd
So no Amazon installation can be done ? That's me out then ?

Yeah you're going to need a little more horsepower than that. Streaming sticks and devices are so good at what they do because they're not general computing devices. The same is true for game consoles of all generations.
Jockmcd
Amazon box plays on all systems and emulators roms up to ps1 & PSP, so it's just hyperspin that won't work then ?
griffin518
All games for all systems? I'd bet that it struggles with MAME games like NFL Blitz and anything past the early 90s. It's all up to what you want, however. If you're just looking to run Ms. Pacman, then have at it. I'd also be curious to see things beyond SNES/Genesis running on it, as that'd be something I'd be interested in. Yes, HyperSpin does need more horsepower for the animated themes, navigation, etc. than you'd need for a static list front-end.
x8681150
can i install this on the latest fire tv box? how
Jockmcd
So the actual gui interfafce needs more power than the actual roms and emulators for this, that's cool , guess hyperspin is not for Amazon firebox then, that's all I really needed to know , thank you x

Jockmcd
I don't think it is mate , remember I'm new to this , you basically said hyperspin does need more horsepower ? Really confused now. Sorry if you think I misunderstood what you were saying, perhaps you can make it clearer for me ? From my point of view the Amazon box runs roms and emulators as I said up to and PSP / ps1 flawless so all I wanted to know initially was , can I install hyperspin to the Amazon box .
